背景:髋关节置换是治疗股骨头坏死、骨性关节炎、髋关节发育不良以及老年股骨颈骨折等髋关节疾病最有效的方法,因此有必要对髋关节置换的生物力学行为展开研究。目的:采用有限元仿真的方法模拟髋关节置换后骨小梁结构髋臼杯和实体结构... 背景:髋关节置换是治疗股骨头坏死、骨性关节炎、髋关节发育不良以及老年股骨颈骨折等髋关节疾病最有效的方法,因此有必要对髋关节置换的生物力学行为展开研究。目的:采用有限元仿真的方法模拟髋关节置换后骨小梁结构髋臼杯和实体结构髋臼杯模型的接触应力和米氏应力大小和分布情况,分析其对假体及髋关节的影响。方法:通过3-Matic Research 11.0软件设计了2种不同结构的髋关节假体组件模型:骨小梁结构髋臼杯和实体结构髋臼杯模型。并将设计好的模型经Hypermesh 14.0软件划分网格并赋予材料属性,最后导入有限元分析软件Abaqus 6.13软件中仿真分析,比较相同状态下2种髋臼杯的应力值和应力分布情况。结果与结论:骨小梁结构髋臼杯的应力呈散点状分布,分布范围广。实体结构髋臼杯容易出现应力集中现象,应力分布集中在受力点附近。骨小梁结构髋臼杯相对于实体结构髋臼杯而言,应力分布范围更大,应力分布更均匀,从而可以减轻髋关节假体之间的磨损,降低髋关节假体发生无菌性松动的风险。 展开更多

The tribological behavior of Al0.25 CoCrFeNi high-entropy alloy(HEA) sliding against Si3N4 ball was investigated from room temperature to 600°. The microstructure of the alloys was characterized by simple FCC phase with 260 HV. Below 300°, with increasing temperature, the wear rate increased due to high temperature softening. The wear rate remained stabilized above 300°due to the anti-wear effect of the oxidation film on the contact interface. The dominant wear mechanism of HEA changed from abrasive wear at room temperature to delamination wear at 200°, then delamination wear and oxidative wear at 300°and became oxidative above 300°. Moreover, the adhesive wear existed concomitantly below 300°. 展开更多

Hard facing with Nickel/cobalt based alloys for steel substrates are widely used for high temperature and pressure applications in chemically reactive environments due to their good corrosion and wear resistance properties. In the present research, the ceramic material, i.e., zirconium, is coated on a hypoeutectic cast iron substrate to improve its corrosion and wear resistance. The substrate was coated with zirconium by sol-gel process as well as by the plasma spray process for comparison purpose. Results of the research indicated that the successful deposition of zirconium on the cast iron substrate by sol-gel deposition technique had improved both corrosion and wear resistance of cast iron. SEM analysis revealed that the coating was denser without any internal cracks indicating the soundness of deposition. Also, sol-gel process of coating indicated better wear resistance as compared with plasma spray coated cast iron. Thus, zirconium coating on the substrate has made cast iron sound (without any surface defects) along with excellent corrosion and wear resistance properties. This has made cast iron suitable for structural and automotive applications. 展开更多

This paper deals with the production of aluminum alloy (LM-13) reinforced with titanium carbide (TiC) chilled composites subject to different chilling rates to study the effect of chilling on microstructure, mechanical and tribological behavior. Metallic and non-metallic chills (25 mm thick) were used in this investigation. The specimens taken from casting blocks were tested for their microstructure, strength, hardness and wear behavior. It was found in the present investigation that chilling rate and addition of TiC reinforcement (3 to 12 wt% in steps of 3 wt%) have improved both mechanical properties (strength and hardness) and wear resistance of the composite developed. Out of the chills used, copper chill was found to be good in improving mechanical properties because of its high Volumetric Heat Capacity (VHC). It is concluded from the above investigation that type of chill and hence chilling rate, reinforcement content have an effect on mechanical properties wear behavior. 展开更多

为了合理预测隧道掘进机(TBM)施工过程中地质条件、掘进参数及刀圈特性等多种因素对盘形滚刀刀圈磨损的影响,对TBM滚刀破岩机理和刀圈磨损机理进行了研究.基于现场实测数据,如掘进推力、贯入度、磨损量、滚刀半径、滚刀安装半径、刀圈... 为了合理预测隧道掘进机(TBM)施工过程中地质条件、掘进参数及刀圈特性等多种因素对盘形滚刀刀圈磨损的影响,对TBM滚刀破岩机理和刀圈磨损机理进行了研究.基于现场实测数据,如掘进推力、贯入度、磨损量、滚刀半径、滚刀安装半径、刀圈几何尺寸等,根据摩擦学理论,综合考虑各影响因素的相互作用,提出了刀圈综合磨损系数的概念,并建立了滚刀磨损预测模型,同时可对刀盘上各滚刀的有效掘进距离进行预测;将预测模型应用到兰州市水源地建设工程输水隧洞双护盾TBM施工中,同时与其他预测模型对比,验证了综合磨损系数预测模型的有效性.研究结果表明:刀圈综合磨损系数随滚刀安装半径的增大而减小,随滚刀安装角度的增大而增大;综合磨损系数与其他模型磨损系数变化规律基本一致;基于综合磨损系数预测得到的有效掘进距离与实际掘进距离基本吻合,误差在10%以内,说明基于综合磨损系数建立的TBM滚刀预测模型是可靠的. 展开更多

Strength and Wear Behavior of Mg Alloy AE42 Reinforced with Carbon Short Fibers

In addition to the advantage of the lightweight of magnesium alloys, magnesium composites have moderate strength and elastic modulus. The proposed application of magnesium composites as diesel truck pistons makes it necessary to assess their wear performance. Little research data have been discussed on wear behavior of Mg alloy AE42 matrix and its composites. Thus, this paper reports wear behavior of magnesium alloy AE42(Mg–Al–Mn—RE;rare earth) and its composite AE42-C, which contains 23 vol% of randomly oriented carbon short fibers. Materials characterization, including density measurements, hardness testing, microstructures investigation, and compression testing at temperatures of 25, 150,and 300 °C, were conducted. Wear tests were performed under various loads and sliding distances. Wear mechanisms were also proposed based on the examination of worn surfaces using optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy equipped with EDX(energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometry) analysis system. The hardness of AE42-23 vol% C composite is twice the hardness of the Mg matrix alloy AE42. Significant improvements to yield stress and compressive strength at temperatures of 25, 150, and 300 °C of the composite versus the AE42 alloy are achieved. Wear resistance of the composite is improved considerably versus that of the Mg alloy AE42 at the various sliding distances. Smearing of graphite on the worn surface produces a lubricating film that delays change from mild to severe wear of the composite, especially at high loads. EDX analysis of the worn surface shows oxidation of the matrix alloy at higher wear loads, and this mechanism decreases in the presence of carbon fibers under the same loads. Abrasive wear, oxidation, and plastic deformation are the dominant wear mechanisms for the alloy matrix AE42, whereas mainly abrasive wear is the wear mechanism of AE42-23 vol% C composite under the proposed testing conditions. 展开更多

A numerical simulation model is proposed to predict the wear depth of gears,where Archard's wear equation and a nonlinear dynamic model are combined to establish a wear calculation model under dynamic conditions.The dynamic meshing force,determined by the non-linear dynamic model,and the sliding coefficient are used by Archard's wear equation to calculate the surface wear.Then the dynamic meshing force and sliding coefficient would be recalculated according to the surface wear state.After repeated iterations,the simulation results show that the peak and fluctuation of the meshing force increase first,then decrease,and eventually maintain stability during the process of wear.As for the distribution of wear depth,its fluctuation also increases first and then declines.Finally,the distribution of wear depth becomes V-shaped.Comparing the trends of the two factors,it is clear that the meshing force and wear depth are closely related.Moreover,the wear rate maintains a higher constant value first and then declines to a lower constant value. 展开更多

Experimental Study on Wear Characteristics of PCBN Tool with Variable Chamfered Edge 预览

Owing to heavy dynamic and thermal loads, PCBN tools are seriously worn during hard cutting, which largely constrains the improvement of their machining performance. Therein, the chamfered structure of a cutting edge has a notable influence on the tool wear. Thus, a comparative study was carried out on the wear morphology and wear mechanism of PCBN tools with either a variable chamfered edge or an invariable chamfered edge. The results indicate that, for a PCBN tool with a variable chamfered edge, the rake wear area is far from the cutting edge and slowly extends toward it. A shallow large-area crater wear occurs on the rake face, and the flank wear area has a long triangular shape with a smaller wear area and width, and the cutting edge remains in a good state during the cutting process. In contrast, for a PCBN tool with an invariable chamfered edge, a deep small-area crater appears on the rake face, and the wear area is close to the cutting edge and quickly extends toward it. Thus, it is easy for chips to accumulate in the crater, resulting in large-area and high-speed wear on the flank face. In addition, the tool shows a weak wear resistance. In the initial wear stage, the rake wear mechanism of the two cutting tools is a mixture of abrasive, oxidation, and other types of wear, whereas their flank wear mechanism is dominated by abrasive wear. With an aggravation of the tool wear, the oxidation and diffusion wear mechanism are both increasingly strengthened. The rake wear of the cutter with a variable chamfered edge showed an obvious increase in the oxidation and diffusion wear, as did the flank wear of the cutter with an invariable chamfered edge. This study revealed the wear mechanism of the PCBN tool with a variable chamfered edge and provided theoretical and technological support for its popularization and application in the machining of high-hardness materials. 展开更多

As for TC11 alloys at 25℃, the wear rate increased to high values with an increase in the load;and abrasive wear and adhesive wear prevailed. However, at 600℃, the wear rate decreased sharply and oxidative wear prevailed. As for AISI M2 steels, at 25 and 600℃, the wear rates were relatively low. The wear mechanisms at 25 and 600℃ were abrasive wear and oxidative wear, respectively. The wear rates of AISI M2 steel were lower than those of TC11 alloy at 25 and 600 ℃. The wear performance of the tribo-pair was noticed to be closely related to their mutual contact mode except for the test conditions and the pin and disk materials, and the intermittent contact mode reduced wear of AISI M2 steel. 展开更多

In order to study the influencing factors of mechanical damage, based on the three-body abrasive wear, this paper discusses the wear of the secondary cutting abrasive. Firstly, the secondary wear model of the hemispherical abrasive grain on the friction pair surface is established. Secondly, the simulation experiment is carried out on the secondary scratching of the abrasive wear on the surface of the part. Next, the equivalent strain data and the equivalent stress data obtained by the experiment are subjected to secondary friction analysis. The final results show that the secondary friction damage of the hemispherical abrasive grain is greater than one wear. 展开更多

Wear is an important factor for failures of mechanical components.Current research on wear is mainly focused on experiments while the numerical simulation of wear is hardly used owing to the complexities of the wear process.Explaining the effect of friction on the wear process is important,as it will lead to a deeper understanding of the evolution of wear.This study proposed a numerical method to expound the wear process in the contact between an elastic cylinder and a half-space simulating the ring-block tester.There are two difficulties during the calculation;one is that the contact shapes vary with time,causing the pressure distribution to change simultaneously and the other is the integral equation for calculating the contact pressure under different worn shapes.In the present study,the wear rate was computed using Archard’s law and the wear process was calculated step by step until the specified total sliding distance was achieved.During each step of the calculation,the contact topography was updated.The simulation intuitively reproduced the contact state of change from line to surface contact throughout the wear process.Reasonable agreements on the changes of the wear scar,achieved from experiments and numerical simulations,were obtained. 展开更多
