The expressway is necessary for the development of the modern transportation industry, and the level of expressway construction reflects the overall grade of national or regional economic development. In order to process the expressway road property data information, based on the current mainstream Windows operating system, this study utilizes Geographic Information System (GIS) development technology, road video processing technology, and spatial data mining method to design and develop an expressway video and road infostructure GIS data production system. The system designs a multi-layer distributed application model in accordance with the ideas and methods of GIS engineering and the characteristics of road production data. In addition, according to the characteristics and specification requirements of basic geographic data, the road production database of spatial data and attribute data integrated storage is constructed by combining database and spatial data engine. Through the development of the GIS data production system for expressway video and road infostructure, various functions such as generation of road property data, dynamic management of road infostructure, and visualization of spatial information have been realized. Purpose The increasing number of deaths due to road traffic accidents(RTAs)has attracted global attention.However,the influence of road types is rarely considered in the study of RTAs.This study evaluates the influence of different road types in RTAs in northern Guizhou to provide a basis for the formulation of evidence-based policies and measures.Methods We obtained the data from the Zunyi Traffic Management Data Platform for the years 2009–2018.The mortality rates of RTAs were calculated.Descriptive methods and Chi-square tests were used to analyze the characteristics of road traffic collisions on different road types.We also examined the associations between the mortality rate per 10,000 vehicles and the growth of per capital gross domestic product(GDP)with Spearman’s rank correlation analysis.According to the passing volume and the infrastructure,we defined different types of roads,like administrative road,functional road,general urban road and urban expressway.Results In 2012,the traffic mortality rate of administrative roads was 8.9 per 100,000 people,and the mortality rate of functional roads was 7.4 per 100,000 people,which decreased in 2018 to 6.1 deaths per 100,000 people and 5.2 deaths per 100,000 people,respectively.The mortality rate per 10,000 vehicles reached the highest level in 2011(28.8 per 10,000 vehicles and 22.5 per 10,000 vehicles on administrative and functional roads,respectively).The death rate of county roads was the highest among administrative roads(χ^(2)=17.389,p<0.05)and that of fourth-class roads was the highest among functional roads(χ^(2)=21.785,p<0.05).The mortality rate per 10,000 vehicles was negatively correlated with per capital GDP.Conclusion Although our research shows that RTAs in northern Guizhou have steadily declined in recent years,the range of decline is relatively small.Many measures and sustainable efforts are needed to control road traffic death and accelerate the progress in road traffic safety in northern Guizhou. 展开更多

This study presents an order exponential model for estimating road traffic safety in city clusters.The proposed model introduces the traffic flow intrinsic properties and uses the characteristics and regular patterns of traffic development to identify road traffic safety levels in city clusters.Additionally,an evaluation index system of city cluster road traffic safety was constructed based on the spatial and temporal distribution.Then Order Exponential Evaluation Model(OEEM),a comprehensive model using order exponent function for road traffic safety evaluation,was put forward,which considers the main characteristics and the generation process of traffic accidents.The model effectively controlled the unsafe behavior of the traffic system.It could define the levels of city cluster road traffic safety and dynamically detect road safety risk.The proposed model was verified with statistical data from three Chinese city clusters by comparing the common model for road traffic safety with an ideal model.The results indicate that the order exponent approach undertaken in this study can be extended and applied to other research topics and fields. 展开更多

为了解道路对青岛浮山森林公园入侵植物分布格局的影响,本研究选取了24个样地,共72个样方,运用群落调查法对浮山入侵植物的种类、分布格局及与道路的关系进行了研究。结果表明,在所调查的浮山区域内,共发现入侵植物12种,隶属于6科11属... 为了解道路对青岛浮山森林公园入侵植物分布格局的影响,本研究选取了24个样地,共72个样方,运用群落调查法对浮山入侵植物的种类、分布格局及与道路的关系进行了研究。结果表明,在所调查的浮山区域内,共发现入侵植物12种,隶属于6科11属。浮山入侵植物主要来源于北美洲,占58.3%。入侵植物种数与海拔、路距呈负相关。海拔、坡向和人为干扰强度与入侵植物重要值呈极显著负相关。浮山入侵植物分布比较广泛,与其它种植物间竞争激烈,物种多样性相对稳定,应采取积极措施预防入侵植物占据生态位,维护浮山生态环境稳定。 展开更多

针对交通拥堵、雾霾(空气质量)等研究热点问题,以济南市主城区为例,定量分析了高峰拥堵延时指数、交通拥堵等对城市空气质量的影响,结合遥感反演气溶胶光学厚度(aerosol optical depth, AOD),构建基于地理加权回归(geographically weigh... 针对交通拥堵、雾霾(空气质量)等研究热点问题,以济南市主城区为例,定量分析了高峰拥堵延时指数、交通拥堵等对城市空气质量的影响,结合遥感反演气溶胶光学厚度(aerosol optical depth, AOD),构建基于地理加权回归(geographically weighted regression, GWR)模型定量的分析拥堵环境下道路交通对空气质量的影响。研究结果表明:高峰拥堵延时指数与空气质量指数(air quality index, AQI)有较强的相关性,即交通运行状况对空气质量有较大影响。GWR模型细化了AQI的分布特征,表征了道路交通参数的局部空间变化。在交通拥堵条件下,道路的面积占有率对区域内空气质量的影响最大。本研究对交通规划具有一定的指导意义,为交通规划、控制提供支撑和依据。 展开更多

Urban road dust was collected from Vellore City,Tamil Nadu,India,and analyzed.Scanning electron microscopy(SEM)was used to examine road dust from nine sampling locations in the study region.SEM image analysis was used to identify various shape factors of collected dust particles.The equivalent spherical diameter of most particles was between 10μm and 30μm.Fine particles had greater concentrations at locations with higher traffic flow.Particles were categorized into four classes based on their shape factors,viz.,spherical,mineral,elongated,or irregular.Spherical particles had the smallest mean equivalent diameter(1.95μm)and mineral particles had the largest diameter(33.3μm).Spherical particles made up the smallest portion of road dust(0-12%)in the study region and mineral particles made up the largest(45-65%).Elongated and irregular particles,each made up 23-30%of road dust.Electron dispersive X-ray spectroscopy analysis was used to identify the elemental composition of dust particles.Spherical particles were mostly from combustion sources and mineral particles were largely of crustal origin.No individual source was found for irregular and elongated particles.Biological debris was the major source of irregular particles. 展开更多

Valorization of harbor dredged sediment activated with blast furnace slag in road layers 认领

The valorization solutions for dredged sediment have been the subject of a great number of investigations over the previous decades.In the current present study,treatment of polluted dredged sediment fom the commercial port of Sfax,Tunisia,is proposed.An industrial byproduct(blast furnace slag)was used to bind raw sediment for a reuse in road engineering.Following standards of this field,the raw sediment first was identified and classified according to the French technical guidance.Then an environmental assessment was applied due to the presence of heavy metals.The concentrations were measured on the raw sediment particles so as to control the binding effect on heavy metals.Sediment mixtures consisted of a mix of sand and a blast furnace slag activated with quicklime.Different mixtures were tested and some were proposed for sub-layer applications.The Sfax commercial port raw sediment is considered as a sandy loam with a very low fraction of clay.The measured concentrations of heavy metals exceed the recommended thresholds for cadmium,copper,lead,and zinc.These can induce hazardous effects in the case of their dumping into the sea.On the other hand,the concentrations of the detected elements after leaching tests run on raw sediment samples are very low compared to the thresholds;such results highlight a possible recycling of the raw sediment in subgrade layers without any negative impact.Suitable formulations were deduced for road engineering tests relying on the ratio the California Bearing Ratio index and the immediate bearing index.If the obtained ratio exceeds one,the treated sediment can be recycled and used in road layers. 展开更多

The influence of emissions of an active volcano on the composition of nanoparticles and ultrafine road dust was identified in an urban area of the Andes.Although many cities are close to active volcanoes,few studies have evaluated their influence in road dust composition.Air quality in urban areas is significantly affected by nonexhaust emissions(e.g.road dust,brake wear,tire wear),however,natural sources such as volcanoes also impact the chemical composition of the particles.In this study,elements from volcanic emissions such as Si>Al>Fe>Ca>K>Mg,and Si-Al with K were identified as complex hydrates.Similarly,As,Hg,Cd,Pb,As,H,Cd,Pb,V,and salammoniac were observed in nanoparticles and ultrafine material.Mineral composition was detected in the order of quartz>mullite>calcite>kaolinite>illite>goethite>magnetite>zircon>monazite,in addition to salammoniac,a tracer of volcanic sources.The foregoing analysis reflects the importance of carrying out more studies relating the influence of volcanic emissions in road dust in order to protect human health.The road dust load(RD_(10))ranged between 0.8 and 26.8 mg m^(−2)in the city. 展开更多

Roundabouts are very useful when flows are balanced but can have operational challenges when flows increase.Most roundabouts on arterial roadways in Ghana experience recurring congestion during peak traffic.The four roundabouts between Ejisu Municipality and Asokwa Municipality on the N6 highway are typical of the situation found on arterials countrywide.They experience recurring long queues and delays during the peak hours and over-representation of truck rollover accidents.In Ghana,historically,most roundabouts with capacity problems have been developed into interchanges at very high cost without consideration of other effective at-grade configurations.When roundabouts are signalized,various configurations can be explored to enhance capacity while preserving the safety benefits.Using simulation techniques,various configurations and design options were tested for their effectiveness at two of the roundabouts,located at KNUST police station and Ejisu,with similar demand and high left turning volumes.The objectives of this study were to a)evaluate the performance of the selected roundabouts on the corridor;b)explore alternative intersection configurations to improve capacity and delay.Using video data collection techniques,2-h time stamped footages of AM and PM peak traffic flows were captured for two days.Geometric design parameters of the existing roundabouts,queue lengths,travel times,and approach flows were also captured.VISSIM models of the selected roundabouts were developed and calibrated for the baseline conditions.Signalized unconventional roundabout configuration,with a phase for major road through traffic were simulated and assessed for capacity,delay and queue length.The results showed that signalized roundabout intersections effectively increased capacity by as much as 50%in some cases,reduced delay and queue length significantly,and maintained the benefits of roundabouts including safety.The performance could be further enhanced by introducing separate left turn phases to reduce conflicts or through 展开更多

Forest cover change in the mountainous region is driven by a variety of anthropogenic and natural factors.The Hindu Kush-Himalayan Mountains has experienced a considerable vegetation cover change due to intensive human activities,such as population growth,proximate causes,accessibility,unstable political situations,government policy failure and poverty.The present study seeks to find out the impact of population growth and road network expansion on forest cover of Palas valley based on remotely sensed data and employing geospatial techniques.Changes in forest cover were determined by classifying time-series satellite images of Landsat and Sentinel 2 A.The images of October 1980,2000,2010 and 2017 were classified into six land cover classes and then the impact of population growth and accessibility on forest cover was analyzed.Furthermore,forest cover and land-use change detection map was prepared using classified images of 1980 and 2017.The data were collected mainly from field visits(ground verification),census reports,Communication and Works Department,Kohistan.Satellite imageries were obtained from the United States Geological Survey’s websites and classified in ERDAS imagine 2014 and ESRI ArcGIS 10.2.1 using supervised classification-maximum likelihood algorithm.Result of this study revealed that a substantial reduction in forest cover has taken place mainly in the proximity of human settlements.On the average,during the study period,annually more than 460 hectares of forest area has been converted into other uses. 展开更多

Location advantages of ports refer to the current developments of ports based on their conditions, such as geographic location, traffic accessibility and hinterland economy, etc., and the spatial pattern of ports’ location advantages reflects the spatial distributions, the regularities and the correlations among their conditions for development. A good understanding of the spatial patterns of ports’ location advantages can help to better identify the relative advantages of ports, position ports’ functions and make strategic plans for development. This paper selected 1259 ports from 63 countries along the Maritime Silk Road as research objects and builds an accessing model to analyze their location advantages on the bases of six factors: the influence of strategic shipping pivot, the competitiveness of port location potential, port network status, the influence of city, the influence of traffic trunk, and road network density in hinterland. The study has the following three findings. Firstly, the location advantages of ports show a "high-low-high" distribution pattern from the west to the east, displaying an obvious "core-periphery" regionalized distribution. Secondly, most ports have high location advantages, mainly located in Strait of Malacca, the United Arab Emirates, northern Mediterranean coastal region and China-Japan region, the top 10 ports are mainly located in Singapore, China, Malaysia and Japan, indicating that the shipping industry in Asia-Pacific region has stepped to the far front of the global competition;slow economic growths, wars, far away from the Belt and Road countries or bad climate have low location advantages, mainly located in African coastal areas, Oceania, Northeast Europe and Russia. Thirdly, compared with the landward location advantages, the seaward location advantages have a higher influence, and different indicators of location advantages have different influences on the evaluation results, the competitiveness of port location potential being the core indicator. 展开更多
