Retinoic acid can cause many types of cells,including mouse neuroblastoma Neuro-2 A cells,to differentiate into neurons.However,it is still unknown whether microRNAs(miRNAs)play a role in this neuronal differentiation.To address this issue,real-time polymerase chain reaction assays were used to detect the expression of several differentiation-related miRNAs during the differentiation of retinoic acid-treated Neuro-2 A cells.The results revealed that miR-124 and miR-9 were upregulated,while miR-125 b was downregulated in retinoic acid-treated Neuro-2 A cells.To identify the miRNA that may play a key role,miR-124 expression was regulated by transfection of miRNA mimics or inhibitors.Morphological analysis results showed that inhibition of miR-124 expression reversed the effects of retinoic acid on neurite outgrowth.Moreover,miR-124 overexpression alone caused Neuro-2 A cells to differentiate into neurons,and its inhibitor could block this effect.These results suggest that miR-124 plays an important role in retinoic acid-induced differentiation of Neuro-2 A cells. 展开更多

At present,there is no reliable biomarker for the diagnosis of traumatic brain injury(TBI).Studies have shown that extracellular vesicles released by damaged cells into biological fluids can be used as potential biomarkers for diagnosis of TBI and evaluation of TBI severity.We hypothesize that the genetic profile of salivary extracellular vesicles in patients with head trauma differs from that in uninjured subjects.Findings from this hypothesis would help investigate the severity of TBI.This study included 19 subjects,consisting of seven healthy controls who denied history of head trauma,six patients diagnosed with concussion injury from an outpatient concussion clinic,and six patients with TBI who received treatment in the emergency department within 24 hours after injury.Real-time PCR analysis of salivary extracellular vesicles in participants was performed using TaqMan Human Inflammation array.Gene expression analysis revealed nine upregulated genes in emergency department patients(LOX5,ANXA3,CASP1,IL2RG,ITGAM,ITGB2,LTA4H,MAPK14,and TNFRSF1A)and 13 upregulated genes in concussion clinic patients compared with healthy participants(ADRB1,ADRB2,BDKRB1,HRH1,HRH2,LTB4R2,LTB4R,PTAFR,CYSLTR1,CES1,KLK1,MC2R,and PTGER3).Each patient group had a unique profile.Comparison between groups showed that 15 inflammation-related genes had significant expression change.Our results indicate that inflammation biomarkers can be used for diagnosis of TBI and evaluation of disease severity.This study was approved by the Institutional Review Board on December 18,2015(approval No.0078-12)and on June 9,2016(approval No.4093-16). 展开更多

Perinatal hypoxic-ischemic-encephalopathy significantly contributes to neonatal death and life-long disability such as cerebral palsy. Advances in signal processing and machine learning have provided the research community with an opportunity to develop automated real-time identification techniques to detect the signs of hypoxic-ischemic-encephalopathy in larger electroencephalography/amplitude-integrated electroencephalography data sets more easily. This review details the recent achievements, performed by a number of prominent research groups across the world, in the automatic identification and classification of hypoxic-ischemic epileptiform neonatal seizures using advanced signal processing and machine learning techniques. This review also addresses the clinical challenges that current automated techniques face in order to be fully utilized by clinicians, and highlights the importance of upgrading the current clinical bedside sampling frequencies to higher sampling rates in order to provide better hypoxic-ischemic biomarker detection frameworks. Additionally, the article highlights that current clinical automated epileptiform detection strategies for human neonates have been only concerned with seizure detection after the therapeutic latent phase of injury. Whereas recent animal studies have demonstrated that the latent phase of opportunity is critically important for early diagnosis of hypoxic-ischemic-encephalopathy electroencephalography biomarkers and although difficult, detection strategies could utilize biomarkers in the latent phase to also predict the onset of future seizures. 展开更多

Research works of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) applications and its constraints solutions occupy wide area around the world and attract many researchers. In this paper, an important one of environmental WSN applications is presented that is the water monitoring applications. An efficient approach for monitoring and controlling water parameters in real-time is implemented utilizing merging between WSN and designed simple workstation. For implementation simplicity, two water parameters (pH and temperature) are monitored and controlled in the proposed approach. Most of past work of water monitoring presented different proposed monitoring scenarios for different water parameters only. This research work utilizes the concept of interactive WSN nodes. The interactive nodes interact with the monitored water parameters to control its value. In the base station, the collected data is analyzed and the real-time value of the monitored parameters appears on the designed Graphic User Interface (GUI). The GUI is designed using the Matlab program. Through the GUI, the operator can switch the control between automatic and manual. ZigBee module is used for implementing the wireless communications between the nodes and the workstation. Due to the cost and simplicity, two sensors only are used in the proposed approach. Different real-time experiments are performed to test and measure the effectiveness and performance of the presented approach. These experiments reveal that the presented approach is effective for water treatment and efficient more than the past proposed water monitoring scenarios. 展开更多

提出将紧急处置决策生效到破坏性地震波到达列车运行区域的地震预警及紧急处置提前时间与对运行列车采取的紧急处置措施完全生效用时之比作为高速铁路地震预警及紧急处置时效性的定义,据此建立时效性数学模型;将时效性量值分为6级,用以... 提出将紧急处置决策生效到破坏性地震波到达列车运行区域的地震预警及紧急处置提前时间与对运行列车采取的紧急处置措施完全生效用时之比作为高速铁路地震预警及紧急处置时效性的定义,据此建立时效性数学模型;将时效性量值分为6级,用以进行高速铁路地震预警及紧急处置时效性评价。采用时效性数学模型和评价方法对实例进行分析。结果表明:高速铁路现地预警方式可以有效降低地震预警及紧急处置时效性无效的发生概率,区域预警方式可以有效提高地震预警及紧急处置总时效性水平;联合预警方式不仅可减小高速铁路预警盲区,改进地震预警及紧急处置实时性,有效提高地震预警及紧急处置总时效性,还可通过冗余方式提高地震预警及紧急处置系统可靠性,避免漏报。目前我国高速铁路采用的联合预警方式的地震预警及紧急处置时效性服从偏置伽马分布,总时效性为57.195%,评价等级为效果显著。 展开更多

This paper evaluates impacts of the real-time information from the smartphone APP and the real-time information board at bus stops on bus users with survey data. Through the analysis of data with t-test and linear regression, it is found that the waiting time of bus riders with real-time information from the smartphone APP is much less than that of bus riders without the real-time information. As to the perceived waiting time of bus users, through the linear regression, the study finds that without the real-time information, bus riders’ perceived waiting time is greater than waiting time. At the same time, the perceived waiting time of bus users with real-time information is only slightly larger than their waiting time. Through regressing anxiety on real-time information, perceived waiting time and so on, it is found that real-time information reduces anxiety remarkably. 展开更多

针对实际复杂田间环境下杂草与作物识别精度低和实时性差的问题,为减少弱光环境对分割识别效果的影响,实现甜菜与杂草的实时精确分割识别,该文首先将可见光图像进行对比度增强,再将近红外与可见光图像融合为4通道图像;将深度可分离卷积... 针对实际复杂田间环境下杂草与作物识别精度低和实时性差的问题,为减少弱光环境对分割识别效果的影响,实现甜菜与杂草的实时精确分割识别,该文首先将可见光图像进行对比度增强,再将近红外与可见光图像融合为4通道图像;将深度可分离卷积以及残差块构成分割识别模型的卷积层,减少模型参数量及计算量,构建编码与解码结构并融合底层特征,细化分割边界。以分割识别精度、参数量以及运行效率为评价指标,通过设置不同宽度系数以及输入图像分辨率选出最优模型。试验结果表明:本文模型的平均交并比达到87.58%,平均像素准确率为99.19%,帧频可达42.064帧/s,参数量仅为525 763,具有较高分割识别精度和较好实时性。该方法有效实现了甜菜与杂草的精确实时识别,可为后续机器人精确除草提供理论参考。 展开更多

Atypical chemokine receptors have recently emerged as important molecular players in health and diseases;they affect chemokine availability and function and impact a multitude of pathophysiological events,including the tumorigenesis process.This family of atypical receptors comprises five members:ACKR1/DARC,ACKR2/D6,ACKR3/CXCR7,ACKR4/CCRL1,and ACKR5/CCRL2.This work evaluated the differential expression of these receptors in prostate cancer using quantitative PCR.Further evaluation of CCRL2 at the protein level confirmed its overexpression in a metastatic cell line and in malignant prostatic tissues from patients.CCRL2,apresumed member of the atypical chemokine receptor family,plays akey role in lung dendritic cell trafficking to peripherally mphnodes.Recent studies have reported the expression of CCRL2 in different human cancer cell lines and tissues.However,its function and expression in prostate cancer has not been previously addressed. 展开更多
