Urban sewage treatment facility is an important ways to control polluted domestic water. The operation of urban sewage treatment facilities is good or not, and whether the effectiveness of pollutant emission reduction can be exerted play a significant role in reducing the pollution of living sources. Nowadays the operation of urban sewage treatment facilities is mainly evaluated by the load rate. However, due to the failure to fully implement the reformation of the rainwater and polluted water in Guangdong Province, the domestic sewage is mixed with rainwater during the rainy season and is included in the treatment of urban sewage treatment facilities. Therefore, it is not objective to evaluate the operation of sewage treatment facilities using only the load rate of sewage treatment. According to the situation of Guangdong Province, the load rates of COD, ammonia nitrogen and total phosphorus in domestic sewage and load rate of sewage treatment were included in the evaluation, and 20 urban sewage treatment facilities were selected as research objects. The operation situations and emission reduction benefits of urban sewage treatment facilities in different regions of Guangdong Province were roughly evaluated. 展开更多

To improve the utilization efficiency of water the laying length of porous tubes was analyzed. Considering long porous tubes the irrigation uniformity of porous tubes was studied by analyzing the deviation rate of the working head of porous tubes and through an impact analysis of the deviation ratio of flow rate based on laying length slope pressure head and perforation spacing. Results showed that the deviation ratio of the flow rate could be reduced by decreasing the length of tubes and increasing the slope. The deviation ratio of flow rate was less influenced by pressure head and perforation spacing. A best laid slope resulted in a longer laying length of the porous tubes and they were not constant. 展开更多

To investigate the developmental potential and clinical value of embryos with abnormal cleavage rate,a retrospective analysis was performed on 66 635 2-prokaryotic(2PN)and 1-pronuclear(1PN)embryos.The embryos were given conventionally in vitro fertilization(IVF)treatment and continuously cultured on the day 3(D3)at the Reproductive Medicine Center,Tongji Medical College,Huazhong University of Science and Technology from January 2016 to December 2017.The embryos were separated into the day-2(D2)undivided group with 106 cases,the arrested development group with 3482 cases,the blastomere reduction group with 541 cases,and the control group with 62 506 cases,respectively.The blastocyst utilization rates of these three abnormal groups were 2.83%,10.86%and 6.84%,respectively,which were significantly different from that in control group(39.46%).Furthermore,2 cases of anabiosis and 1 case of live birth were found in D2 undivided group.In arrested development group,there were 55 cases of anabiosis,11 cases of clinical pregnancy in single-embryo transplantation(including 6 cases of live birth),and 25 cases of clinical pregnancy in combination with one normal embryo transplantation(including 23 cases of live births and 15 cases of dizygotic twins under B-ultrasound).There were 13 case of anabiosis in blastomere reduction group:there was 1 case of single embryo transplantation and clinical pregnancy was obtained;there were also 6 cases of clinical pregnancy in combination with one single normal embryo transplantation(including 5 cases of live births and 2 cases of di2ygotic twins under B-ultrasound).In conclusion,embryos with abnormal cleavage rate still have the potential to continue to develop,and have certain blastocyst utilization rate and live birth. 展开更多

Influence of depressurization rate on gas production capacity of high-rank coal in the south of Qinshui Basin, China 预览

A desorption simulation experiment with the condition of simulated strata was designed. The experiment, under different depressurizing rates and the same fluid saturation, was conducted on the sample from 3# coal of Daning coal mine in Jincheng, Shanxi Province. The gas production rate and pressure change at both ends of the sample were studied systematically, and the mechanisms of some phenomena in the experiment were discussed. The experimental results show that, whether at fast or slow depressurizing rate, the methane adsorbed to high-rank coal can effectively desorb and the desorption efficiency can reach above 90%. There is an obvious inflection point on the gas yield curve during the desorption process and it appears after the pressure on the lump of coal reduces below the desorption pressure. The desorption of methane from high-rank coal is mainly driven by differential pressure, and high pressure difference is conducive to fast desorption. In the scenario of fast depressurization, the desorption inflection appears earlier and the gas production rate in the stage of rapid desorption is higher. It is experimentally concluded that the originally recognized strategy of long-term slow CBM production is doubtful and the economic benefit of CBM exploitation from high-rank coal can be effectively improved by rapid drainage and pressure reduction. The field experiment results in pilot blocks of Fanzhuang and Zhengzhuang show that by increasing the drainage depressurization rate, the peak production of gas well would increase greatly, the time of gas well to reach the economic production shortened, the average time for a gas well to reach expected production reduced by half, and the peak gas production is higher. 展开更多

Analysis on Mechanical Grain Harvesting Characteristics of Different New Maize Varieties 预览

In order to screen new varieties of suitable mechanical grain harvesting maize, the main agronomic traits, stem traits and harvesting traits of maize in the harvest period were studied through taking 18 main varieties and newly-tested varieties in Liaoning Province as materials. It obtained the following results. Between different maize varieties, there was significant difference in the mechanical grain yield, and the quality difference was also significant. Ten test varieties including Tieyan 818 and Danyu 311 obtained higher yield than the control variety. The moisture content at harvesting was 26.0%-30.4%, the average moisture content was 28.22%, the average breaking rate was 6.52%, the average impurity rate was 1.91%, and the average yield loss rate was 6.33%. Danyu 212, Tieyan 58, Dika 516 and Danyu 801 had higher yield, and the grain moisture content, broken rate, impurity rate and yield loss rate were relatively low, so these varieties are suitable for promoting mechanical harvesting. Among the 8 traits surveyed, the traits positively correlated with yield were the percentage of broken stalks, degree of lodging, moisture content at harvesting, and percentage of kernel weight in ear weight, and traits negatively correlated with the yield included plant height, ear height, percentage of bare plants, and degree of lodging. Therefore, high moisture content is the main problem in the mechanical grain harvesting of maize, it is required to properly select early maturing varieties. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Bilateral vs unilateral biliary stenting is used for palliation in malignant biliary obstruction.No clear data is available to compare the efficacy and safety of bilateral biliary stenting over unilateral stenting.AIM To assess the efficacy and safety of bilateral vs unilateral biliary drainage in inoperable malignant hilar obstruction.METHODS PubMed,Embase,Scopus,and Cochrane databases,as well as secondary sources(bibliographic review of selected articles and major GI proceedings),were searched through January 2019.The primary outcome was the re-intervention rate.Secondary outcomes were a technical success,early and late complications,and stent malfunction rate.Pooled odds ratio(OR)and 95%confidence interval(CI)were calculated for each outcome.RESULTS A total of 9 studies were included(2 prospective Randomized Controlled Study,5 retrospective studies,and 2 abstracts),involving 782 patients with malignant hilar obstruction.Bilateral stenting had significantly lower re-intervention rate compared with unilateral drainage(OR=0.59,95%CI:0.40-0.87,P=0.009).There was no difference in the technical success rate(OR=0.7,CI:0.42-1.17,P=0.17),early complication rate(OR=1.56,CI:0.31-7.75,P=0.59),late complication rate(OR=0.91,CI:0.58-1.41,P=0.56)and stent malfunction(OR=0.69,CI:0.42-1.12,P=0.14)between bilateral and unilateral stenting for malignant hilar biliary strictures.CONCLUSION Bilateral biliary drainage had a lower re-intervention rate as compared to unilateral drainage for high grade inoperable malignant biliary strictures,with no significant difference in technical success,and early or late complication rates. 展开更多

Soil erosion from chestnut forests is one of the most important factors causing land degradation in the Yanshan Mountain Region.A 2-year field study was done to compare the effects on erosion of a control plot(CP),a repaired and maintained horizontal ditch built with an engineering baffle every 6m(MP 1),and a repaired and maintained horizontal ditch built with an engineering baffle every 8m(MP 2).The results showed that the slope runoff of chestnut forests was influenced by rainfall characteristic factors.No single rainfall characteristic factor showed dominance for hill slope runoff.The runoff reduction effect of the partition-coordinated erosion control measures(MP 1 and MP 2)was substantial for chestnut forests under high rainfall intensity conditions.However,the runoff reduction efficiency was higher under the conditions of heavy rainfall and low average rainfall intensity than for storms with higher intensity and lower total rainfall.The reduction effect of the partition-coordinated erosion control measures on the runoff and sediment yield of chestnut forest slopes was MP 2 4 MP 1 4 CP.The runoff reduction rate and erosion reduction rate of MP 2 reached 61.70%and 97.41%,respectively,and that for MP 1 was 54.15%and 85.31%,respectively.Therefore,after a comprehensive comparison,MP 2 was determined to be more effective for soil erosion control for a sloping chestnut forest. 展开更多

Extended Kalman Filter(EKF)algorithm is widely used in parameter estimation for nonlinear systems.The estimation precision is sensitively dependent on EKF’s initial state covariance matrix and state noise matrix.The grid optimization method is always used to find proper initial matrix for off-line estimation.However,the grid method has the draw back being time consuming hence,coarse grid followed by a fine grid method is adopted.To further improve efficiency without the loss of estimation accuracy,we propose a genetic algorithm for the coarse grid optimization in this paper.It is recognized that the crossover rate and mutation rate are the main influencing factors for the performance of the genetic algorithm,so sensitivity experiments for these two factors are carried out and a set of genetic algorithm parameters with good adaptability were selected by testing with several gyros’experimental data.Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has higher efficiency and better estimation accuracy than the traversing grid algorithm. 展开更多

Coastal areas are always under frequent threat from various natural processes and man-induced activities. Coastal erosion is recognized as the permanent loss of land along the shoreline resulting in the transformation of the coast. The current study focuses on long-term coastal erosion analysis of the entire Karnataka coast using Remote Sensing, Geographical Information System (GIS), Linear Regression Rate (LRR), and End Point Rate (EPR) techniques. Analysis of 26 (1990 to 2016) years of erosion using Landsat images by the use of the Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS) tool has been done. The results show a high erosion rate at Ullal during this period (LRR -1.3m/yr) and accretion at Devbagh (LRR 3.2 m/yr). The southern Karnataka coast faces severe erosion especially at Ullal, where the settlement is high. At Thanirbhavi, Mukka, Kota, and Om Beaches erosion also is noticed. Both anthropogenic activities like ports, seawalls, breakwaters, etc. and natural processes like long shore drift, seasonal variation, etc. are factors affecting the shoreline change along the Karnataka coast. 展开更多

Estimation of solids circulation rate and char transfer rate from gasifier to combustor in a dual fluidized-bed pilot plant for biomass steam gasification

Operation of a dual fluidized bed, consisting of a riser as combustor and bubbling bed as gasifier, for synthesis gas production from a solid fuel requires determination of the solids circulation rate and char transfer rate. The performance relies on supplying sufficient heat from the combustor to the gasifier by circulation of solids between these two reactors. The flow rate of char is required to track the heat generated in the combustor, which supports endothermic reactions in the gasifier. Direct measurement of these two critical parameters is difficult, with the number of reported techniques capable of working at high temperatures extremely small. An indirect method was developed, using mass and energy balances over the entire system and individual reactors, to estimate the solids circulation rate and char transfer rate. There was general agreement between heat losses estimated from energy-balance calculations and from direct measurement of the outer reactor surface temperature. Under typical gasification conditions, the solids circulation fluxes were estimated to be 45.2 and 55.6 kg/(m^2 s) in two independent tests, which were in good agreement with values obtained using a thermal tracer;char transfer rates were calculated to be 1.2 and 0.6 kg/h, which were in reasonable agreement with average biomass feed rates. This method can be applied to dual gasification systems at any temperature or flow rate. 展开更多

High-throughput quantification of microbial birth and death dynamics using fluorescence microscopy

Background: Microbes live in dynamic environments where nutrient concentrations fluctuate. Quantifying fitness in terms of birth rate and death rate in a wide range of environments is critical for understanding microbial evolution and ecology. Methods^ Here, using high-throughput time-lapse microscopy, we have quantified how Saccharomyces cerevisiae mutants incapable of synthesizing an essential metabolite (auxotrophs) grow or die in various concentrations of the required metabolite. We establish that cells normally expressing fluorescent proteins lose fluorescence upon death and that the total fluorescence in an imaging frame is proportional to the number of live cells even when cells form multiple layers. We validate our microscopy approach of measuring birth and death rates using flow cytometry, cell counting, and chemostat culturing. Results: For lysine-requiring cells, very low concentrations of lysine are not detectably consumed and do not support cell birth, but delay the onset of death phase and reduce the death rate compared to no lysine. In contrast, in low hypoxanthine, hypoxanthine-requiring cells can produce new cells, yet also die faster than in the absence of hypoxanthine. For both strains, birth rates under various metabolite concentrations are better described by the sigmoidal-shaped Moser model than the well-known Monod model, while death rates can vary with metabolite concentration and time. Conclusions: Our work reveals how time-lapse microscopy can be used to discover non-intuitive microbial birth and death dynamics and to quantify growth rates in many environments. 展开更多

Soaking the seeds with 300 mg/L GA3 for 24 h combined with 30d of stratification treatment was most beneficial to germination, and the germination rate was over 90%.[Conclusions] This study provides technical guidance and basic information for the rooting and germination of P. rockii seeds. 展开更多

[Methods] The infrared fingerprints of powder of B. albiflora(Hook.) Reichb.ex Meissn. and B. sessilicarpa Levl. were measured, and the common peak rate and variation peak rate of six samples were calculated to establish the sequence analysis method of common peak rate. [Results] There was a very high common peak rate(≥81.3%) and a very low variation peak rate(≤15.4%) between S1 and S4 as well as S2 and S6. There was a low common peak rate between S1 and S3 as well as S3 and S4, and the common peak rate was 42.9% and 47.6% respectively. There was a low common peak rate(≤47.6%) and a high variation peak rate(≥100.0%) between S1 and S3 as well as S3 and S4. [Conclusions] The method is simple and convenient to operate, can quickly identify different parts used as medicine of B. albiflora(Hook.) Reichb.ex Meissn. and B. sessilicarpa Levl.(two sources of Yi medicine Ebazema), and provide a new method to judge whether the two are equivalent when being used as medicine and quality evaluation. 展开更多

[Objectives]This study was conducted to investigate the effects of lamb age and in vitro culture system of oocytes on the results of juvenile in vitro embryo transfer(JIVET).[Methods]Ten Dorper×small-tailed Han lambs aged 5 to 10 weeks were induced to superovulate via i.p.injection of pregnant mare s serum gonadotropin(PMSG).The oocytes were matured in basal maturation solution or modified maturation solution,which was prepared by adding 200μmol/L cysteine to the basal maturation solution.Then,the oocytes were fertilized in fertilization medium I containing 2%estrus sheep serum(ESS)or fertilization medium II containing 3 mg/ml bull serum albumin(BSA).Finally,the number of oocytes,oocyte maturation rate and cleavage rate of the lambs of different ages were determined.[Results]The average number of oocytes recovered per lamb was(111.00±16.97),(139.50±28.99),(108.50±17.68)and(42.00±11.31)for 5-,7-,8-and 10-week-old Dorper×small-tailed Han lambs,respectively.The number of oocytes obtained from 5-,7-and 8-week-old lambs was significantly higher than that from 10-week-old lambs(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference among 5-,7-and 8-week-old lambs(P >0.05).The maturation rate of oocytes cultured in modified maturation solution was 3.64%higher than that in basal maturation solution.The cleavage rate of oocytes in fertilization medium I was very significantly higher than that in fertilization medium II(P<0.01).[Conclusions]The results of JIVET can be improved by harvesting oocytes from lambs aged 5-8 weeks,adding a certain amount of cysteine into oocyte maturation solution,and a certain amount of ESS into fertilization medium. 展开更多

Cardiovascular responses induced by whole-body vibration training in patients with subacute stroke

Background Whole-body vibration(WBV)therapy has become a comm on treatment in rehabilitation of various patient populations.While it has been shown in healthy young adults that the oxygen consumption rate(VO2)and heat rate(HR)are significantly increased when WBV is added to exercise.However,the cardiovascular response to WBV in patients with subacute stroke is unknown.The objective of this study was to determine the acute cardiovascular responses to WBV during the various exercises in different WBV conditions in patients with subacute stroke(onset less than 3 months).Methods A total of 54 subjects with subacute stroke performed six exercises while being exposed to 3 WBV conditions:(1)no WBV,(2)low WBV intensity[amplitude:0.6mm,frequency:20 Hz,peak acceleration:0.96 gravitational constant(G)],and(3)high WBV intensity(amplitude:0.44 mm,frequency:30 Hz,peak acceleration:1.61G).The cardiovascular responses(HR and VO2)were measured by a FitMate^TM Pro metabolic system during the 6 exercises.Two-way repeated measures ANOVA was used to compare the VO2,and HR data across the different conditions.In addition,we calculated the rate pressure product(RPP)=(HR x systolic blood pressure)/100,for measuring the myocardial oxygen demand.Two-way ANOVA with repeated measures was used to compare the RPP data across the different test conditions.Results Exposure to WBV(high-and low-intensity protocols)significantly induced higher VO2 by 0.35-1.07 mL·kg^-1·min^-1(P<0.001)and HR by 0.8-6.0 beats per minute(P<O.OOl)compared with the no WBV condition,regardless of the exercise performed.No significant difference in VO2 and HR was found between the low-and high-intensity WBV protocols(P>0.05).For RPP,there was an overall significant effect between pre-and post-WBV(P<0.001).The main effect of WBV intensity(P=().572),and intensity x time interaction effect(P=0.756),however,were not significant.Conclusions HR and VO2 are increased significantly with addition of WBV training.The added low-and high-intensity WBV induce a similar increase in 展开更多

The impact of water temperature(24,27,30 and 33℃)and salinity(15,20,25,30 and 33)on oxygen consumption(OCR)and ammonium excretion rate(AER)of♀Epinephelus fuscoguttatus×♂E.lanceolatus hybrid grouper juveniles(9.39±0.07 g)were investigated under the fed and un-fed conditions.The results showed that the OCR and AER were significantly(P<0.05)affected by temperature and salinity under both fed and un-fed conditions.When temperature was 24–33℃,the OCR and AER of fed hybrid grouper juveniles were 85.68%–129.52%and 125.78%–287.63%,respectively,higher than those of un-fed hybrid grouper juveniles.The O/N ratio,protein use(Pu),Q10(respiration)and Q10(excretion)of fed hybrid grouper juveniles were 14.43–24.01,28.35%–48.48%,1.69 and 3.01,respectively.The O/N ratio,Pu,Q10(respiration),Q10(excretion)of un-fed hybrid grouper juveniles were 20.39–31.79,22.16%–34.34%,1.23 and 1.17,respectively.When salinity was 15–33,the OCR and AER of fed hybrid grouper juveniles increased by 87.42%–116.85%and 215.38%–353.57%,respectively,over those of un-fed hybrid grouper juveniles.The O/N ratio and Pu of fed hybrid grouper juveniles were 14.48–17.78,39.36%–49.43%,respectively.The O/N ratio and Pu of un-fed hybrid grouper juveniles were 20.39–31.79 and 22.16%–34.34%,respectively.The specific dynamic action(SDA)of hybrid grouper juveniles was mainly related to protein metabolism.The results had a guiding significance to the large-scale intensive aquaculture of hybrid grouper juveniles. 展开更多

Comparison between Eating Habits Improvement by Using the Caloric-Tofu and Gene Analysis Result—For Young People 预览

Elderly people decreas... The previous paper by Naomi Katayama et al. reported the effect of high caloric-tofu on elderly people. The body composition was improved by elderly people eating high caloric-tofu for 2 months. Elderly people decreased body fat and increased body protein. Therefore, in this research, we decided to investigate young people who can improve body composition by eating high caloric-tofu for 2 months. The twenty-two young people (19 men, 3 women: from age 19 years old to 22 years old) who submitted the written consent of the subject participated in this study. We performed the gene analysis (β3AR, UCP1,β2AR) of the subject. The subject lived a normal life every day. The subject had eaten two caloric-tofu a day. A caloric-tofu has 100 kcal. The subject participated in a study for two months. As for the subject, body composition was measured on the first day and the last day of the study. A result, skeletal muscle rates of fifteen people increased, and a fat rate decreased. However, five people changed into neither the skeletal muscle rate nor the fat rate. People who were effective by this experiment were the people who had variation in β2AR, and people among whom there was not an effect were the people who had variation in UCP1. This experiment had little number of the data, but it was revealed that an intake of the caloric-tofu was more likely to help the reinforcement of the skeletal muscle mass to a participant with the variation in β2AR gene. It will be necessary to increase the number of participants more, and to examine it in detail in future. We also need to investigate a wide range of age groups. We thought in future that an effect might appear by doing nourishment instruction based on a result of the gene analysis. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Elderly patients aged at least 75 years old(Elderly_75),represent 45%of colorectal cancer(CRC)incidence.As others,the French Colorectal Cancer Screening Program(CRCSP)does not include Elderly_75.To date,there is little evidence to justify stopping screening at 74 years of age.AIM To describe CRC fecal screening test completion after age 74,source(CRCSP/Provider ordered)and outcomes of these tests.METHODS The study concerned 18704 Elderly_75 residing in eleven French districts(Ain,Doubs,Essonne,Haute-Saone,Hauts-de-Seine,Jura,Seine-Saint-Denis,Territoire-de-Belfort,Val-de-Marne,Val-d'Oise,Yonne),having performed a CRC screening test between January 2008 and December 2017.The tests performed in a circumstance of delayed response to a solicitation(DRS)from the local cancer screening managing center(Managing-Center)were distinguished from the tests non-solicited by the Managing-Center,performed after a recommendation by a General Practitioner(GP)or other provider ordered(RGP).DRS was any test realized by an Elderly_75 following an initial invitation from the ManagingCenter with a maximum 24 mo after this invitation.Any Non-DRS test was considered RGP.The outcomes of these tests were described according to the circumstances of test completion.RESULTS Of 18995 screening-tests were performed at ages:75(83.5%),76-80(13.4%)and>80(3.1%)years old.Elderly_75 performed the screening test in a circumstance of DRS(71.9%)or RGP(28.1%).The proportion of the tests that could not be analyzed and not restarted was 13.2%.For these unanalyzed tests,the reason was age-related in 78.0%of cases,related to the laboratory's refusal to analyze the test of people aged≥77.Reported colonoscopy completion rate was 81.3%.For those575 people with reported colonoscopy,no complication was listed.18.0%of the366 Elderly_75 with lesions had no anteriority in the CRCSP.The neoplasia(124 Low-risk-polyps,159 High-risk-polyps,13 Unspecified-polyps and 70 CRCs)detection rate was 19.3/1000 Elderly_75 screened and the CRC detection rate was3.7/1 展开更多

This study tried the improvement of meal contents by taking in soy protein using caloric-tofu in daily life. The ten elderly people (one man, 9 women: from age 55 years old to 83 years old) who submitted the written consent of the subject participated in this study. We performed the gene analysis (β3AR, UCP1,β2AR) of the subject. The subject lived a normal life every day. The subject had eaten two high caloric-tofu a day. A caloric-tofu has 100 kcal. The subject participated in a study for two months. As for the subject, body composition was measured on the first day and two months after the start of the experiment, and six months after the end of the experiment. As a result, skeletal muscle rates of five people increased slightly, and body fat rate decreased slightly. However, five people changed into neither the skeletal muscle rate nor the body fat rate. Six months after the end of the experiment, the pair composition results were kept almost the same as at the end of the experiment. It can be highly appreciated that in the effective group, the pair composition could be maintained in a better condition than at the beginning of the experiment. For elderly people, the effective group, it is significant that intake of high caloric-tofu is effective in increasing the rate of skeletal muscle, and the effect is maintained even after half a year. 展开更多

And the body composition was improved by elderly people and young people eating high caloric-tofu for 2 months. In both paper reports, both participates decreased body fat and increased body protein. Therefore, in this research, we decided to investigate young people who can keep their body composition after six months to stop eating high caloric-tofu. The ten young people (9 male, one female: from age 19 years old to 22 years old) who submitted the written consent of the subject participated in this study. We performed the gene analysis (β3AR, UCP1,β2AR) of the subject. The subject lived a normal life every day. The subject had eaten two caloric-tofu a day. A caloric-tofu has 100 kcal. The subject participated in a study for two months. As for the subject, body composition was measured on the first day and the last day of the study. As a result, skeletal muscle rates of eight people increased slightly, and body fat rate decreased slightly. However, two people did not change neither the skeletal muscle rate nor the fat rate. Body composition of the eight participants who were effective by this experiment was not kept after six months to stop this study. Six months after the end of the intervention for the participants, the body composition became worse. In this study, participants could temporarily change their behavior but could not continue this condition. It will be necessary to increase the number of participants more, and to examine it in detail in future. We also need to investigate a wide range of age groups. We thought in future that an effect might appear by doing nourishment instruction based on a result of the gene analysis. 展开更多
