The neurological devastation of neurodegenerative and cerebrovascular diseases reinforces our perseverance to find advanced treatments to deal with these fatal pathologies.High-performance preclinical results have failed at clinical level,as it has been the case for a wide variety of neuroprotective agents and cell-based therapies employed to treat high prevalent brain pathologies such as stroke,Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.An unquestionable reality is the current absence of effective therapies to neuroprotect the brain,to arrest neurodegeneration and rewire the impaired brain circuits.Part of the problem might arise from the lack of adequate in vitro and in vivo models and that most of the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms are not yet clarified.Another contributing factor is the lack of efficient systems to sustain drug release at therapeutic concentrations and enhance the survival and function of grafted cells in transplantation procedures.For medical applications the use of biomaterials of different compositions and formats has experienced a boom in the last decades.Although the greater complexity of central nervous system has probably conditioned their extensive use with respect to other organs,the number of biomaterials-based applications to treat the injured brain or in the process of being damaged has grown exponentially.Hydrogel-based biomaterials have constituted a turning point in the treatment of cerebral disorders using a new form of advanced therapy.Hydrogels show mechanical properties in the range of cerebral tissue resulting very suitable for local implantation of drugs and cells.It is also possible to fabricate three-dimensional hydrogel constructs with adaptable mesh size to facilitate axonal guidance and elongation.Along this article,we review the current trends in this area highlighting the positive impact of hydrogel-based biomaterials over the exhaustive control of drug delivery,cell engraftment and axonal reinnervation in brain pathologies. 展开更多

In this study, the synthesis and spectroelectrochemical analysis of hybrid materials containing poly-o-methoxyaniline/porous V2O5, poly(ethylene) oxide/ porous V2O5 and poly-o-methoxyaniline/poly(ethylene) oxide/porous V2O5, which have high potential for applications in batteries and electronics, is reported. The hybrid materials were obtained by intercalation of the polymers into the porous V2O5 matrix. These new compounds were characterized using dc conductivity, and, for spectroelectrochemical studies, ultraviolet visible (UV-vis) spectroscopy as well as cyclic voltammetry were used. The optical band gap values of the hybrid materials were estimated using Tauc plot. The introduction of organic materials into the inorganic species resulted in the reduction of VV ions to VIV, increasing the dc conductivity and affecting the spectroelectrochemical properties of the samples. 展开更多

Two-dimensional(2D)polymers are fascinating as they exhibit unique physical,chemical,mechanical,and electronic properties that are completely different from those of traditional linear or branched polymers.They are very promising for applications in catalysis,separation,optoelectronics,energy storage,and nanomedicine.Recently,ultrathin 2D conjugated polymers have emerged as advanced materials for converting solar energy into chemical energy.The inherent 2D planar structure with in-plane periodicity offers many features that are highly desirable for photon-involved catalytic energy conversion processes,including high absorption coefficients,large surface areas,abundant surface active sites,and efficient charge separation.Moreover,the possibility of finely tuning the optoelectronic and structural properties through precise molecular engineering has opened up new opportunities for design and synthesis of novel 2D polymer nanosheets with unprecedented applications.Herein,we highlight recent advances in developing ultrathin 2D conjugated polymer nanosheets for solar-to-chemical energy conversion.Specifically,we discuss emerging applications of ultrathin 2D conjugated polymer nanosheets for solar-driven water splitting and CO2 reduction.Meanwhile,future challenges and prospects for design and synthesis of ultrathin 2D conjugated polymer nanosheets for solar fuel generation are also included. 展开更多

多孔碳材料因其优异的导电性和稳定性,以及成本低廉等优点而成为当今的研究热点之一。以苯酚、甲醛和三聚氰胺为原料,利用高浓度氯化锌来提供超盐环境,经溶剂热反应后,在氮气中800℃下热解制得了含氮碳气凝胶(N CA)。扫描电子显微镜、... 多孔碳材料因其优异的导电性和稳定性,以及成本低廉等优点而成为当今的研究热点之一。以苯酚、甲醛和三聚氰胺为原料,利用高浓度氯化锌来提供超盐环境,经溶剂热反应后,在氮气中800℃下热解制得了含氮碳气凝胶(N CA)。扫描电子显微镜、拉曼光谱、X射线光电子能谱和氮气吸附等表征结果表明,该含氮碳气凝胶具有分级多孔蜂窝状结构,其比表面积高达729.6m^2/g。采用三电极测试体系测试了含氮碳气凝胶的电化学性能,结果表明,在三电极体系中,以0.5mol/LH2SO4作为电解液,含氮碳气凝胶在电流密度为1A/g时比电容达到350.7F/g;在电流密度为20A/g时,经过10000次充放电后,含氮碳气凝胶的电容保持率仍高达97.8%。在双电极体系中,含氮碳气凝胶在800W/kg的功率密度下,能量密度可达26.8(W·h)/kg。上述结果表明,该含氮碳气凝胶是一种非常理想的超级电容器电极材料。 展开更多

"Thiol-yne" click reaction has already been widely applied in synthesis and modification of new polymer structures or novel materials due to its specific features. However, in most studies, only chain-end strategy was employed when using the di-addition feature of thiol-yne reaction, thus the in-chain di-addition strategy could endow us with a broader space to develop the synthesis of advanced polymers. Therefore, in this paper, the features of in-chain mono and di-addition were investigated when modifying the alkynefunctionalized polymers to prepare grafted polymers via thiol-yne click reaction. The results showed that it is almost impossible to obtain the in-chain di-adducts even under excess feeding of chain-end thiol-functionalized grafts, while only the in-chain mono-adducts could be obtained efficiently. Further researches investigated that the controlled grafting could be encountered when carrying out the thiol-yne click reaction between chain-end alkyne-functionalized polystyrenes and chain-end thiol-functionalized polystyrenes under proper feedings. Therefore, the effect of steric?hindrance might be the primary reason for the alternative grafting via thiol-yne click reaction between in-chain and chain-end alkyne-functionalized polymers. 展开更多

Novel antibacterial materials for implants and medical instruments are essential to develop practical strategies to stop the spread of healthcare associated infections. This study presents the synthesis of multifunctional antibacterial nanocoatings on polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) by remote plasma assisted deposition of sublimated chlorhexidine powders at low pressure and room temperature. The obtained materials present effective antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli K12, either by contact killing and antibacterial adhesion or by biocide agents release depending on the synthetic parameters. In addition, these multifunctional coatings allow the endure hydrophilization of the hydrophobic PDMS surface, thereby improving their biocompatibility. Importantly, cell-viability tests conducted on these materials also prove their non-cytotoxicity, opening a way for the integration of this type of functional plasma films in biomedical devices. 展开更多

以疏水基含量分别为0.35%和0.2%的疏水缔合聚合物和常规线性聚丙烯酰胺为对象,研究聚合物缔合能力对吸附滞留特征的影响。采用浸泡法研究了不同浓度聚合物在石英砂上的静态吸附特征,并采用流动实验装置测定了浓度为1500mg/L的三种聚合... 以疏水基含量分别为0.35%和0.2%的疏水缔合聚合物和常规线性聚丙烯酰胺为对象,研究聚合物缔合能力对吸附滞留特征的影响。采用浸泡法研究了不同浓度聚合物在石英砂上的静态吸附特征,并采用流动实验装置测定了浓度为1500mg/L的三种聚合物在不同速度下的动态滞留量。结果表明,疏水缔合聚合物呈现三段式的静态吸附特征,即先缓慢上升,达到临界缔合浓度后快速上升,最后趋于平稳;缔合能力越强,在临界缔合浓度之后的上升段幅度越大;缔合能力强的聚合物HAWP-0.35能够在3mL/min的注入速度下与HPAM在0.5mL/min具有相当的吸附滞留量,表明缔合能力能够克服注入速度对聚合物在多孔介质中动态滞留量的影响,缔合能力越强,吸附滞留量越大. 展开更多

目的建立高效分子排阻色谱法(HPSEC)测定注射用美罗培南中聚合物杂质含量,并用液-质联用仪(LC-MS)对聚合物杂质进行初步定性。方法采用TSKgel G2000SWXL色谱柱,以p H 7. 0的0. 005 mol·L^-1磷酸盐缓冲液[0. 005 mol·L^-1磷酸... 目的建立高效分子排阻色谱法(HPSEC)测定注射用美罗培南中聚合物杂质含量,并用液-质联用仪(LC-MS)对聚合物杂质进行初步定性。方法采用TSKgel G2000SWXL色谱柱,以p H 7. 0的0. 005 mol·L^-1磷酸盐缓冲液[0. 005 mol·L^-1磷酸氢二钠-0. 005 mol·L^-1磷酸二氢钠(61∶39)]为流动相;检测波长为254 nm;流速为0. 8 m L·min^-1;柱温为25℃。结果在该条件下美罗培南峰与聚合物峰分离良好;美罗培南浓度在2. 54~50. 83μg·m L^-1内得回归方程:Y=9. 095 3X-2. 215 0,相关系数r2=0. 999 6 (n=6),浓度与峰面积呈良好的线性关系;本法以美罗培南的最小定量限(S/N=10)为0. 508μg·m L^-1。同时采用TSKgel G2000SWXL柱与反向HPLC-C18柱实现二维柱切换技术,再联合质谱对聚合物杂质进行测定,初步确定聚合物的结构为二聚物、三聚物和同分异构体。结论本方法简便、准确、灵敏、可靠,更能有效的测定美罗培南中聚合物的含量,适用于不同厂家上市药品的再评价。 展开更多

Titanium complex greases were prepared by using naphthenic mineral oil and polydimethylsiloxane as the mixed base oil. The effect of polydimethylsiloxane molecular weight and polydimethylsiloxane content in mixed base oil on the physicochemical and tribological properties of titanium complex greases was investigated.As compared to the sole mineral oil-based titanium complex grease, the use of polydimethylsiloxane(H201-350)as a co-base oil increased the dropping point from 310 to 329℃, decreased the oil separation from 3.7% to 2.3%,reduced the corrosion extent, and obviously improved the tribological properties. When the mixed oil-based titanium complex grease was used as a lubricant, lubricating films of polydimethylsiloxane were probably formed on the surfaces of friction pairs, giving good lubricating property. 展开更多

Facile construction of two-dimensional coordination polymers with a well-designed redox-active organic linker for improved lithium ion battery performance

A well-designed redox-active organic linker,pyrazine-2,3,5,6-tetracarboxylate(H4pztc)with brimming active sites for lithium ions storage was utilized to construct coordination polymers(CPs)via a facile hydrothermal reaction.Those two isostructural two-dimensional(2D)CPs,namely[M2(pztc)(H2O)6]n(M=Co for 1 and Ni for 2),delivered excellent reversible capacities and stable cycling performance as anodes in lithium ion batteries.As demonstrated in electrochemical studies,1 and 2 can achieve highly reversible capacities of 815 and 536 mA h g-1at 200 mA g-1for 150 cycles,respectively,best performed for the reported2D-CP-based anode materials.The electrochemical mechanism studies showed that the remarkable performances can be ascribed to the synergistic Li-storage redox reactions of metal centers and organic moieties.Our work highlights the opportunities of using a well-designed organic ligand to construct low-dimensional CPs as new type of electrode materials for advanced lithium ion batteries. 展开更多

In this study, a series of random conjugated polymers (PBDB-TBTn) as donors were designed and synthesized. In these polymers, benzodithiophene unit with thiophene conjugated side chains (BDT) are donor part, and two different content of benzo[1,2-c:4,5-c']dithiophene-4,8-dione (BDD) and difluorobenzothiadizole (BT) linked alkylthiophene are acceptor unit. Polymer solar cells (PSCs) were fabricated with ITIC as an acceptor, and over the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 9%was obtained, with open circuit voltage (Voc) of 0.86 V, short-circuit current density (Jsc) of 16.84 mA/cm^2, and fill factor (FF) of 62.5%. These random conjugated polymers based solar cells are insensitive to solvent additives and thermal annealing. The performance of the device decreases gradually with the increasing of the proportion of fluorinated acceptor unit. The declining efficiency is due to the excessive fluorinated acceptor unit, which leads to over aggregated topography, destroys the effective charge transport pathways, and affects phase separation domain size between the donor and the acceptor. The phenomena are explained by the charge carrier recombination, atomic force microscope (AFM), and transmission electron microscope (TEM). These results indicate that proper addition of fluorinated acceptor units to build random copolymers can enhance the efficiency of organic photovoltaics toward additive-free and thermal annealing-free PSCs. 展开更多

The cooperative electrostatic attraction and π-π aromatic stacking interactions between tetrahedral tetrapyridinium TP and three tetraanionic tetraphenylethylene derivatives TPE-1~3 led to the formation of a new kind of supramolecular polymer networks in water, which have been confirmed by~1 H NMR,fluorescence, isothermal titration calorimetric(ITC) and dynamic light scattering(DLS) experiments. ITC studies show that the contributions of enthalpy and entropy were comparable, reflecting the importance of hydrophobicity in driving the intermolecular aromatic stacking. DLS experiments indicate that the linear supramolecular polymers formed by these tetratopic monomers further aggregated into networks of 10~2-nm size. 展开更多
