Organizational neuroscience(ON)is an emerging discipline that provides effective interpretations and greater understanding of modern organizational operation.ON covers a variety of disciplines,including physiological psychology,cognitive psychology,and neuropsychology,as well as the study of management,industrial/organizational psychology,and consultants.So far,ON has made many contributions to organization studies.Given the rapid development of neuroscience,many scholars have studied the leadership behaviors of organizational leaders from this emerging perspective.However,not all neuroscience studies investigate the differences between specific leaders.In particular,previous neuroscience studies have not touched on the neuroscientific effects found during the issue of and response to instructions between leaders and followers.This study extends previous ON studies to other organizational factors,including leadership style,organizational atmosphere,and job performance.In the future,an empirical study will be conducted to guide the practical applications of ON. 展开更多

This study proposes a moderated mediation model to investigate the relationship between organizational learning and firm performance. We argue that entrepreneurial orientation mediates the positive effect of organizational learning on firm performance. Furthermore, the relationship between organizational learning and entrepreneurial orientation is strengthened when firms employ a higher level of high-performance work system. Hypotheses are supported by data from 181 firms operating in the manufacturing and service industries in China. Statistical results further reveal that a high-performance work system has different moderating effects on exploitative learning and exploratory learning. This research extends our understanding of organizational learning theory, entrepreneurship and human resource management literature by cross-fertilizing constructs in these fields with empirical evidence. 展开更多

Predicting User Satisfaction of Non-volitional Enterprise Systems: An Example From Telecomunications 预览

The rapid pace of technological change has seen information and communication technologies become the digital backbone of developed nations’ economies and a pre-requisite for global trade. Some enterprise systems are however more than mere facilitators, they provide the bedrock without which organizations could not function;we term these mandatory systems “non-volitional”(NVS). With hyper-growth in demand for connectivity, telecommunications are typical of sectors where NVS shape the fiercely competitive landscape. Among them, Billing & Revenue Management Systems (BRMS) are a form of credit, providers deliver a service and subscribers later pay for that service. As such, they are “business critical”, meaning failures may affect an organization’s ability to conduct its core business. Failures also impact user satisfaction, a key measure of information systems success. However, relatively few studies empirically test this notion;fewer still evaluate it at organizational (rather than individual) level, while there is a dearth of literature investigating non-volitional systems and, to the best of our knowledge, none whatsoever consider ways of predicting user satisfaction for BRMS. According to a renowned and widely cited conceptual model, user satisfaction is influenced by information, system, and service quality respectively. To test this theory for telecoms BRMS, we applied structural equation modelling to investigate which of these dimensions has the most effect. The results indicate that information quality, system quality, service quality, and user satisfaction are all valid measures of BRMS success. Hypothesized relationships between the four success dimensions were significantly substantiated. The study also identified five measures of information quality, four measures of system quality, four measures of service quality, and four measures of user satisfaction. One of the major concerns in today‘s business world is talent retention and development.Leading and working with multi-generational workforce in the age of digital transformation may seem daunting,but this paper argues that it has its advantages in creating opportunities.Through interviews and case studies,this paper discovers that tensions in multi-generational collaboration often occur during the process of setting priorities for a group because different generations might have brought in different levels of capacity and willingness to take risks,and different levels of trust in,and care for people and the organization.The role of design in this context focuses more on capabilities,including observing generational behavioral nuances through practicing empathetic view,inviting people from different age into conversation and actively listening to them through the practice of shifting perspectives,and communicating complex situations through visualization and materialization for people to feel together.If we look at different generations in an organization as natural continuum of knowledge flow,if we see multigenerational workforce as one of driving forces to maintain organizational balance rather than tearing forces,and if we approach generational attributes with honesty,we could steer away from stereotypes and find common grounds to thrive together. 展开更多

Organizations in the 21th century have to address the problem of employee’s retention as it has direct and indirect costs for the organisation.In regards to this issue several theories have emerged pointing out the strong relationship between retention and employee’s motivation.This last topic is not trivial,as it includes factors from different disciplines such as the psychological or managerial ones.The aim of this paper is to analyse the current literature related to different work motivation theories in order to identify patterns,which might help to understand better the dynamics between motivation at work and its impact on employee retention.In order to do so a detailed revision of the literature has been done classifying the main motivational theories in needs,traits,values,and cognition.Results of the above analysis highlight the“satisfaction of a need”as a common denominator in the motivational theories.Need theories explain why someone must act but they do not explain why particular actions are followed in specific situations.One of the insights is that values are the ones that unveil what drives individuals to achieve a goal.Therefore it is vital for organizations to learn and understand which ones are the employees work values in order to retain them and keep them motivated. 展开更多

Leveraging core capabilities and environmental dynamism for food traceability and firm performance in a food supply chain: A moderated mediation model 预览

This paper develops a moderated mediation model in which the interactive effects of food traceability and environmental dynamism on firm performance are mediated by the core capabilities(operating capabilities and marketing capabilities)in food supply chain context, by invoking the indirect view of organizational learning theory. Our hypotheses were tested using hierarchical regression and bootstrapping methods with a sample of 216 food manufacturing firms in China, and a survey-based, two-informant design was used to collect data. The results revealed that operating and marketing capabilities fully mediate the food traceability-performance link. In addition, environmental dynamism positively moderates the food traceability-core capabilities link. Moreover, it is found that operating and marketing capabilities transform the interactive impacts of environmental dynamism and food traceability into firm performance. Our study offers a fine-grained picture of the essential food traceability-performance link by revealing for the first time that there is an interactive impacts of food traceability and environmental dynamism on firm performance via core capabilities. 展开更多

Knowledge-based employees are the inexhaustible motive force for the sustainable development of modern enterprises.Being consistent with the psychological expectation of knowledge-based employees is conducive to stimulating the intrinsic motivation of knowledge-based employees and promoting the innovation performance of enterprises.Based on 175 valid questionnaires,the analysis shows that the knowledge about employees psychological contract can be divided into two-dimension,transactional or relational dimension.Both of them are independent to each other.The correlation analysis shows that the transactional psychological contract and relational psychological contract have positive correlation with team performance and organization performance.At the same time,the team performance and organization performance have positive correlation.Regression analysis shows that compared with relational psychological contract,transactional psychological contract can promote team performance and organizational performance more effectively.Both two psychological contracts can mediate the organizational performance by virtue of team performance. 展开更多

This research copes to study the relationship between cultural variables of organization,organizational climate,ability of information technology,motivation work to satisfaction of bank employees’performance and activity of BPD in East Kalimantan.This research addressed to analyze the cultural variable of organization,the ability of information technology,motivation and satisfaction.This research of the survey is done by using the approach of pad cross sectional study of 13 sub-provinces and town bank of BPD in East Kalimantan.Technique intake of the sample depends on random proportional sampling.Measurement is conducted with structural equation modeling(SEM)pass courses of AMOS 5 and 150 samples taken by bank employees of BPD in East Kalimantan.Result of examination with technique of SEM,indicated that the model has developed degree of axle.According to research data at moderating storey,result of evaluation of goodness of fit indices indicates result of the moderating to the overalls of constructs in the model.Partially developed constructs evaluate good fit of goodness.In general,all the exogenous variables(cultural of organization,the ability of information technology,and organizational climate)have significant effect on motivation and satisfaction of bank activity of BPD in East Kalimantan.Some hypotheses raised in this research can be accepted.Organizational culture has a significant effect on motivation work employees and satisfaction of activity,and ability of information technology has a significant effect on motivation and satisfaction of activity,while organizational climate does not. 展开更多
