A large number of chemokines,cytokines,other trophic factors and the extracellular matrix molecules form a favorable microenvironment for peripheral nerve regeneration.This microenvironment is one of the major factors for regenerative success.Therefore,it is important to investigate the key molecules and regulators affecting nerve regeneration after peripheral nerve injury.However,the identities of specific cytokines at various time points after sciatic nerve injury have not been determined.The study was performed by transecting the sciatic nerve to establish a model of peripheral nerve injury and to analyze,by protein microarray,the expression of different cytokines in the distal nerve after injury.Results showed a large number of cytokines were up-regulated at different time points post injury and several cytokines,e.g.,ciliary neurotrophic factor,were downregulated.The construction of a protein-protein interaction network was used to screen how the proteins interacted with differentially expressed cytokines.Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway and Gene ontology analyses indicated that the differentially expressed cytokines were significantly associated with chemokine signaling pathways,Janus kinase/signal transducers and activators of transcription,phosphoinositide 3-kinase/protein kinase B,and notch signaling pathway.The cytokines involved in inflammation,immune response and cell chemotaxis were up-regulated initially and the cytokines involved in neuronal apoptotic processes,cell-cell adhesion,and cell proliferation were up-regulated at 28 days after injury.Western blot analysis showed that the expression and changes of hepatocyte growth factor,glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor and ciliary neurotrophic factor were consistent with the results of protein microarray analysis.The results provide a comprehensive understanding of changes in cytokine expression and changes in these cytokines and classical signaling pathways and biological functions during Wallerian degeneration,as well as a bas 展开更多

Zebrafish and human genomes are highly homologous;however,despite this genomic similarity,adult zebrafish can achieve neuronal proliferation,regeneration and functional restoration within 6–8 weeks after spinal cord injury,whereas humans cannot.To analyze differentially expressed zebrafish genes between axon-regenerated neurons and axon-non-regenerated neurons after spinal cord injury,and to explore the key genes and pathways of axonal regeneration after spinal cord injury,microarray GSE56842 was analyzed using the online tool,GEO2R,in the Gene Expression Omnibus database.Gene ontology and protein-protein interaction networks were used to analyze the identified differentially expressed genes.Finally,we screened for genes and pathways that may play a role in spinal cord injury repair in zebrafish and mammals.A total of 636 differentially expressed genes were obtained,including 255 up-regulated and 381 down-regulated differentially expressed genes in axon-regenerated neurons.Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes enrichment results were also obtained.A protein-protein interaction network contained 480 node genes and 1976 node connections.We also obtained the 10 hub genes with the highest correlation and the two modules with the highest score.The results showed that spectrin may promote axonal regeneration after spinal cord injury in zebrafish.Transforming growth factor beta signaling may inhibit repair after spinal cord injury in zebrafish.Focal adhesion or tight junctions may play an important role in the migration and proliferation of some cells,such as Schwann cells or neural progenitor cells,after spinal cord injury in zebrafish.Bioinformatic analysis identified key candidate genes and pathways in axonal regeneration after spinal cord injury in zebrafish,providing targets for treatment of spinal cord injury in mammals. 展开更多

生物炭是生物质在缺氧或者绝氧条件下通过高温热解后生成的富含碳的固体材料。生物炭作为一种先进的多功能材料,在土壤改良、温室气体减排、污染控制等领域都展现出应用潜力,受到了广泛的关注。研究人员通过改变生物炭的物理和化学性质... 生物炭是生物质在缺氧或者绝氧条件下通过高温热解后生成的富含碳的固体材料。生物炭作为一种先进的多功能材料,在土壤改良、温室气体减排、污染控制等领域都展现出应用潜力,受到了广泛的关注。研究人员通过改变生物炭的物理和化学性质,开发了多种生物炭改性技术,以提升生物炭的吸附功能。然而,生物炭一旦进入环境后,在生物和非生物的作用下会被老化,其物理和化学性质都会发生变化。随着老化的进行,生物炭逐渐由表面到内部进行降解,苯环结构由大变小,表面含氧官能团增加。这些生物炭的改性、在环境系统中的老化、功能的持久性及在这些动态过程中性质的变化,势必会对其环境效应产生影响。研究表明生物炭氧化程度的加重和表面官能团活性的提升增强了生物炭的吸附能力,促进了生物炭与土壤、植物营养元素和污染物的相互结合,降低了污染物的环境风险。另外的研究指出,老化过程导致生物炭的比表面积和孔体积降低,从而降低了生物炭的吸附能力。同时,老化和改性可能会降低生物炭在环境中的稳定性,导致生物炭的组分(溶解性有机质和溶解性炭黑)和生物炭内源污染物的释放。且由生物炭产生的环境持久性自由基(EPFRs)和短寿命自由基(羟基自由基·OH和超氧阴离子自由基·O^2-)能以自由基途径降解有机污染物。生物炭活化一些无机分子产生的单线态氧(^1 O2)也能以非自由基的途径降解有机污染物。本文对生物炭的改性方法、老化导致的结构变化、老化导致其与化学物质相互作用的不确定性、生物炭与土壤组分的相互作用以及老化生物炭的环境风险方面的研究展开了综述,分析了改性生物炭的老化及其环境效应。最后对生物炭使用后在动态变化过程中的稳定性、功能效果和环境风险等方面提出了展望,强调了生物炭在使用 展开更多

Predicting enhancer-promoter interaction from genomic sequence with deep neural networks

Background:In the human genome,distal enhancers are involved in regulating target genes through proximal promoters by forming enhancer-promoter interactions.Although recently developed high-throughput experimental approaches have allowed us to recognize potential enhancer-promoter interactions genome-wide,it is still largely unclear to what extent the sequence-level information encoded in our genome help guide such interactions.Methods:Here we report a new computational method (named "SPEID") using deep learning models to predict enhancer-promoter interactions based on sequence-based features only,when the locations of putative enhancers and promoters in a particular cell type are given.Results:Our results across six different cell types demonstrate that SPEID is effective in predicting enhancerpromoter interactions as compared to state-of-the-art methods that only use information from a single cell type.As a proof-of-principle,we also applied SPEID to identify somatic non-coding mutations in melanoma samples that may have reduced enhancer-promoter interactions in tumor genomes.Conclusions^ This work demonstrates that deep learning models can help reveal that sequence-based features alone are sufficient to reliably predict enhancer-promoter interactions genome-wide. 展开更多

The interaction between dehydroeburicoic acid (DeEA), a triterpene purified from medicinal fungi and the major transport protein, human serum albumin (HSA), were systematically studied by fluorescence spectroscopy, synchronous fluorescence spectroscopy, three-dimensional fluorescence spectroscopy and molecular docking approach under simulated physiological conditions. The intrinsic fluorescence of HSA was quenched through the combination of static and dynamic quenching mechanism. DeEA cannot be stored and carried by HSA in the body at higher temperature. The hydrogen bonding, hydrophobic force and van der Waals force were major acting forces. The site II was the major binding site. The energy transfer could occur with high probability and the binding distance was 3.29 nm. The binding process slightly changed the conformation and microenvironment of HSA. The DeEA molecule entered the hydrophobic cleft of HSA and formed the hydrogen bonding with Glu-492 and Lys-545. 展开更多

Besides the pairing interaction, it is observed that the quadurpole-quadurpole and particlehole interactions also play a significant role in determining the relative positions of low-lying excited 0^+ and 1^+ levels and their energy gaps, which can result in the ground state first-order quantum phase transition from J = 0 to J = 1.The strengths of the isovector and isoscalar pairing interactions in these even-even nuclei are estimated with respect to the energy gap and the total contribution to the binding energy. Most importantly, it is shown that although the mechanism of the particle-hole contribution to the binding energy is different, it is indirectly related to the Wigner term in the binding energy. 展开更多

Sustained attention is essential in the daily human activities of perception, manipulation, and locomotion. An improvement in sustained attention exhibits potential impacts in several scenarios, including the treatment of mental disorders, such as the attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and the training of certain professionals, such as aircraft pilots, who work under environments with heavy cognitive loads. In this study, we review the haptics-mediated sustained attention-training approaches from the afferent and efferent perspectives based on the bidirectional information flow in the haptic channel. Subsequently, the feasibility of modulating and enhancing attention via the haptic channel is analyzed based on the studies that have investigated the correlation between attention and the afferent/efferent pathways of the haptic channel.We identify several research questions, including how to design diverse haptic training tasks via the afferent and/or efferent pathways and which adaptive strategies can be used to adjust the difficulty levels of haptic training tasks to ensure user engagement. Furthermore, we examine the behavioral and biological evidence that can be used to validate the training efficacy, the manner in which the neural mechanisms underlying the attention-enhancing process can be understood, and the effective variables that can be attributed to the near-and far-transfer effects. In addition, we discuss the difficulties associated with the development of novel haptic technologies. In this study, we intend to investigate the potential impact of haptic stimuli on neuroplasticity and to promote the study of haptics-mediated sustained attention training. 展开更多

Previous study indicated that Banana bunchy top virus (BBTV) coat protein (CP) interacted with BBTV nuclear shuttle protein (NSP). However, the protein and protein interaction and the binding affinity of CP and NSP in Babuvirus are remaining unclear. In this study, the CPs and NSPs proteins of BBTV, Abaca bunchy top virus (ABTV) and Cardamom bushy dwarf virus (CBDV) were used for bioinformatic analysis. The binding free energy and the dissociation constant of the possible interaction proteins were tested in PPA-Pred2, and the results confirmed CP interaction with NSP in Babuvirus. The study will help us to understand the interaction between viral protein and viral protein, and the pathogenesis mechanism of Babuvirus in host plants. 展开更多

The previous studies detected two single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with carcass weight of Japanese Black: c.1326T>G in NCAPG gene and FJX_250879 in PLAG1 gene. Here, I carried out multiple marker association analysis for the two SNPs in Japanese Black population of 218 animals. The multiple marker analysis with the model including the main effects of the two SNPs and their interaction detected significant main effects of c.1326T>G and FJX_250879 and a significant interaction between the two SNPs, for carcass weight. These findings suggest the presence of inter-allelic interactions among genes affecting the variation of carcass weight. For effective marker-assisted selection for beef production, interaction between the two markers needs to be considered. 展开更多

The maternity process that has unfolded throughout the pregnancy, undergoes a turning point that occurs most of the time during the stay in diaper: place for installation of early mother-born interactions. The objective of the study is the evaluation of the quality of the establishment of early motherborn interactions as well as the effect of maternal feeling disruption on these interactions. It is a prospective study, focused on a total of 102 maternal-New-born dyads, in the unit of maternity series, at Rabat Children’s Hospital, University Hospital of Ibn Sina. It was based on a scale and an evaluation grid: the Mother-to-Infant Bonding Scale MIBQ and an evaluation grid of early mother-child interactions. The results showed that the age of the youth who is dominated at 60% (between 21 and 30 years), and that the primiparity was at 54% and 51% healthy;the correlation analysis between MIBQ and the grid shows that there is a significant correlation of average size with the emotional stability of the mother (p = 0.014 < 0.05), the quality of the attachment of the baby as his mother at the moment breastfeeding (p = 0.011 < 0.05) and the quality of the observed family context (p = 0.017 < 0.05). The installation of the mother-child relationship therefore depends on maternal capacities to recognize her place as a mother and to recognize the needs of their child, but it also depends on the child’s ability to show signs of attachment, his feelings of discomfort and pleasure. 展开更多

Shape dependence of support for NOx storage and reduction catalysts

Pt/BaO/Al2O3catalysts with different BaO loadings prepared from Al2O3nanorods (Pt/BaO/ Al2O3-nr)and irregular Al2O3nanoparticles (Pt/BaO/Al2O3-np)were investigated for NOx storage and reduction (NSR).The Pt/BaO/Al2O3 materials derived from Al2O3nanorods always exhibited much higher NOx storage capacity (NSC)over the whole temperature range of 100-400℃ than the corresponding Pt/BaO/Al2O3-np samples containing the same BaO loading,giving the maximum NSC value of 966.9μmol/gcat at 400℃,1.4times higher than that of Pt/BaO/Al2O3-np.Higher catalytic performance of nanorod-supported NSR samples was also observed during lean-rich cyclic conditions (90sec us.S sec),giving more than 98%NOx conversion at 300-450℃ over the Pt/BaO/Al2O3-nr sample with 15% BaO loading.To reveal this dependence on the shape of the support during the NSR process,a series of characterization techniques including the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET)method, X-ray diffraction (XRD),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS),H2temperature pro- grammed reduction (H2-TPR),and in situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy (DRIFTS)were also conducted.It was found that intimate contact of Ba-A1and Ba-Pt sites was achieved over the Pt/BaO/Al2O3surface when using Al2O3-nr as a support. This strong interaction among the multi-components of Pt/BaO/Al2O3-nr thus triggered the formation of surface nitrite and nitrate during the lean period,and also accelerated the reverse spillover of ad-NOx species onto the Pt surface,enhancing their reduction and leading to high NSR performance. 展开更多

A CFD solver naoe-FOAM-SJTU (The abbreviation naoe stands for naval architecture and ocean engineering) is developed based on the open source platform OpenFOAM with the purpose of simulating various marine hydrodynamic problems.In the present paper,self-developed modules,i.e.,wave generation and absorption,6 degrees of freedom motion,mooring system,dynamic overset grid,fluid-structure interaction,unsteady actuator line model,implemented on the open source platform OpenFOAM are introduced to illustrate the development of the marine hydrodynamics CFD solver.Furthermore,extensive simulations of marine hydrodynamic problems using the developed modules are conducted and validated by available experimental data.It has been proved that the CFD solver naoe-FOAM-SJTU is suitable and reliable in predicting the complex viscous flow around ship and offshore structures.Efficiency and accuracy need to be focused in the future development of the present CFD solver. 展开更多

A floating offshore wind turbine (FOWT) is a coupled system where a wind turbine with flexible blades interacts with a moored platform in wind and waves.This paper presents a high-fidelity aero-hydro-mooring-elastic analysis tool developed for FOWT applications.A fully coupled analysis is carried out for an OC4 semi-submersible FOWT under a combined wind/wave condition.Responses of the FOWT are investigated in terms of platform hydrodynamics,mooring dynamics,wind turbine aerodynamics and blade structural dynamics.Interactions between the FOWT and fluid flow are also analysed by visualising results obtained via the CFD approach.Through this work,the capabilities of the tool developed are demonstrated and impacts of different parts of the system on each other are investigated. 展开更多

风力发电是目前利用可再生能源最有效方式之一。风电渗透率的不断提高使其对电力系统的影响更加明显,研究其动力学特性与电力系统动态行为的交互影响确保电力系统的稳定运行具有重要意义。首先基于完整的双馈风电机组数学模型,在IEEE4机... 风力发电是目前利用可再生能源最有效方式之一。风电渗透率的不断提高使其对电力系统的影响更加明显,研究其动力学特性与电力系统动态行为的交互影响确保电力系统的稳定运行具有重要意义。首先基于完整的双馈风电机组数学模型,在IEEE4机2区域系统上,采用特征根分析和时域仿真分析研究了双馈风电机组参数的变化对系统动态特性的影响,分析了调速器参数对风电并网后系统动态响应的影响,并从DFIG并网接入点、并网容量以及联络线传输功率等多方面研究了其与电力系统的交互影响。结果表明:双馈风电机组并网后,调速器的加入可以改善系统的动态响应;适当地增大双馈风电机的定子电阻,有利于系统的稳定;双馈风电机组的并网接入点、联络线传送功率以及出力水平对系统的鲁棒性有不同程度的影响。 展开更多
