In cyber-physical systems, multidimensional data fusion is an important method to achieve comprehensive evaluation decisions and reduce data redundancy. In this paper, a data fusion algorithm based on fuzzy set theory and Dempster-Shafer(D-S) evidence theory is proposed to overcome the shortcomings of the existing decision-layer multidimensional data fusion algorithms. The basic probability distribution of evidence is determined based on fuzzy set theory and attribute weights, and the data fusion of attribute evidence is combined with the credibility of sensor nodes in a cyber-physical systems network. Experimental analysis shows that the proposed method has obvious advantages in the degree of the differentiation of the results. 展开更多

In this paper, a new similarity measure between intuitionistic fuzzy sets based on the mid points of transformed triangular fuzzy numbers is proposed. The proposed similarity measure provides reasonable results not only for the sets available in the literature but also gives very reasonable results, especially for fuzzy sets as well as for most intuitionistic fuzzy sets. To provide supportive evidence, the proposed similarity measure is tested on certain sets available in literature and is also applied to pattern recognition and medical diagnosis problems. It is observed that the proposed similarity measure provides a very intuitive quantification. 展开更多

In this paper, polynomial fuzzy neural network classifiers (PFNNCs) is proposed by means of density fuzzy c-means and L2-norm regularization. The overall design of PFNNCs was realized by means of fuzzy rules that come in form of three parts, namely premise part, consequence part and aggregation part. The premise part was developed by density fuzzy c-means that helps determine the apex parameters of membership functions, while the consequence part was realized by means of two types of polynomials including linear and quadratic. L2-norm regularization that can alleviate the overfitting problem was exploited to estimate the parameters of polynomials, which constructed the aggregation part. Experimental results of several data sets demonstrate that the proposed classifiers show higher classification accuracy in comparison with some other classifiers reported in the literature. 展开更多

Considering that the fault phenomenon of the power head cannot feed under actual working conditions,fuzzy mathematics theory is introduced into fault tree analysis(FTA)according to the structural characteristics of hydraulic system of anchor drilling rigs in this paper.The triangle fuzzy number is used to describe the fault probability of the basic event,the fuzzy probability importance of the basic event is calculated,and the basic events are sorted by comparing the magnitude of the fuzzy probability importance.The results show that the gear wear of auxiliary oil pump,suction phenomena of gear pump,wear and leakage of No.1 and No.3 pumps are the key factors leading to power head failure.In order to improve the overall reliability of the hydraulic system,fault diagnosis and maintenance decisions provide a theoretical basis. 展开更多

As the air combat environment becomes more complicated and changeable, accurate threat assessment of air target has a significant impact on air defense operations. This paper proposes an improved generalized intuitionistic fuzzy soft set (GIFSS) method for dynamic assessment of air target threat. Firstly, the threat assessment index is reasonably determined by analyzing the typical characteristics of air targets. Secondly, after the GIFSS at different time is obtained, the index weight is determined by the intuitionistic fuzzy set entropy and the relative entropy theory. Then, the inverse Poisson distribution method is used to determine the weight of time series, and then the time-weighted GIFSS is obtained. Finally, threat assessment of five air targets is carried out by using the improved GIFSS (I-GIFSS) and comparison methods. The validity and superiority of the proposed method are verified by calculation and comparison. 展开更多

Hamacher t-norm and t-conorm is an generalization of algebraic and Einstein t-norms and t-conorms. In order to combine interval-valued dual hesitant fuzzy aggregation operators with Hamacher t-norm and t-conorm. We first introduced some new Hamacher operation rules for interval-valued dual hesitant fuzzy elements. Then, several interval-valued dual hesitant fuzzy Hamacher aggregation operators are presented, some desirable properties and their special cases are studied. Further, a new multiple attribute decision making method with these operators is given,and an numerical example is provided to demonstrate that the developed approach is both valid and practical. 展开更多

A Fuzzy Logic-Based Method for Risk Assessment of Bridges during Construction 预览

There are many potential sources of risks which may cause bridge failures and result in numerous economic and human losses during the construction of bridges. Therefore, risk assessment for bridges during construction should be taken rigorously to avert bridge failures and casualties. This article presents a fuzzy logic-based method which integrates the fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (FAHP) method based on a 3-point scale, fuzzy logic, and fuzzy set theory into a single synthetic method. In this method, the FAHP method based on a 3-point scale was used to identify and rank diverse risk factors, and fuzzy logic and fuzzy set theory were used to process inaccurate datasets including non-statistical information. After the concept and procedure of the FAHP method based on a 3-point scale were demonstrated, the proposed fuzzy logic-based method was used to perform risk assessment on the Aizhai Suspension Bridge with a main span length of 1 176 m in China. The results show that the proposed method can more effectively carry out risk assessment of bridges during construction. 展开更多

By analyzing relative relation of hunters and escaper, abstract data is gathered to describe the relative location and relative motion state of the robots, which in turn forms the beginning stage of the fuzzy rule. The artificial immune algorithm optimizes and generates the rule data base and adaptive design considers factors in measuring the hunting efficiency. The optimized rules are applied to the hunting task and the results show that the algorithm can effectively actualize hunting of multiple mobile robots. 展开更多

Novel fuzzy uncertainty modeling for land cover classification based on clustering analysis

It is well known that there is a degree of fuzzy uncertainty in land cover classification using remote sensing (RS) images. In this article, we propose a novel fuzzy uncertainty modeling algorithm for representing the features of land cover patterns, and present an adaptive interval type-2 fuzzy clustering method. The proposed fuzzy uncertainty modeling method is performed in two main phases. First, the segmentation units of the input multi-spectral RS image data are subjected to objectbased interval-valued symbolic modeling. As a result, features for each land cover type are represented in the form of an intervalvalued symbolic vector, which describes the intra-class uncertainty better than the source data and improves the separability between different classes. Second, interval type-2 fuzzy sets are generated for each cluster based on the distance metric of the interval-valued vectors. This step characterizes the inter-class high-order fuzzy uncertainty and improves the classification accuracy. To demonstrate the advantages and effectiveness of the proposed approach, extensive experiments are conducted on two multispectral RS image datasets from regions with complex land cover characteristics, and the results are compared with those given by well-known fuzzy and conventional clustering algorithms. 展开更多

Pedestrian level of service(PLOS)is an important measure of performance in the analysis of existing pedestrian crosswalk conditions.Many researchers have developed PLOS models based on pedestrian delay,turning vehicle effect,etc.,using the conventional regression method.However,these factors may not effectively reflect the pedestrians'perception of safety while crossing the crosswalk.The conventional regression method has failed to estimate accurate PLOS because of the primary assumption of an arbitrary probability distribution and vagueness in the input data.Moreover,PLOS categories in existing studies are based on rigid threshold values and the boundaries that are not well defined.Therefore,it is an important attempt to develop a PLOS model with respect to pedestrian safety,convenience,and efficiency at signalized intersections.For this purpose,a video-graphic and user perception surveys were conducted at selected nine signalized intersections in Mumbai,India.The data such as pedestrian,traffic,and geometric characteristics were extracted,and significant variables were identified using Pearson correlation analysis.A consistent and statistically calibrated PLOS model was developed using fuzzy linear regression analysis.PLOS was categorized into six levels(A–F)based on the predicted user perception score,and threshold values for each level were estimated using the fuzzy c-means clustering technique.The developed PLOS model and threshold values were validated with the fieldobserved data.Statistical performance tests were conducted and the results provided more accurate and reliable solutions.In conclusion,this study provides a feasible alternative to measure pedestrian perception-based level of service at signalized intersections.The developed PLOS model and threshold values would be useful for planning and designing pedestrian facilities and also in evaluating and improving the existing conditions of pedestrian facilities at signalized intersections. 展开更多

Artificial intelligence (AI) is once again a topic of huge interest for computer scientists around the world. Whilst advances in the capability of machines are being made all around the world at an incredible rate, there is also increasing focus on the need for computerised systems to be able to explain their decisions, at least to some degree. It is also clear that data and knowledge in the real world are characterised by uncertainty. Fuzzy systems can provide decision support, which both handle uncertainty and have explicit representations of uncertain knowledge and inference processes. However, it is not yet clear how any decision support systems, including those featuring fuzzy methods, should be evaluated as to whether their use is permitted. This paper presents a conceptual framework of indistinguishability as the key component of the evaluation of computerised decision support systems. Case studies are presented in which it has been clearly demonstrated that human expert performance is less than perfect, together with techniques that may enable fuzzy systems to emulate human-level performance including variability. In conclusion, this paper argues for the need for “fuzzy AI” in two senses:(i) the need for fuzzy methodologies (in the technical sense of Zadeh’s fuzzy sets and systems) as knowledge-based systems to represent and reason with uncertainty;and (ii) the need for fuzziness (in the non-technical sense) with an acceptance of imperfect performance in evaluating AI systems. 展开更多

The complex geometry and topology of soil is widely recognised as the key driver in many ecological processes. X-ray computed tomography (CT) provides insight into the internal structure of soil pores automatically and accurately. Until recently, there have not been methods to identify soil pore structures. This has restricted the development of soil science, particularly regarding pore geometry and spatial distribution. Through the adoption of the fuzzy clustering theory and the establishment of pore identification rules, a novel pore identification method is described to extract pore structures from CT soil images. The robustness of the adaptive fuzzy C-means method (AFCM), the adaptive threshold method, and Image-Pro Plus tools were compared on soil specimens under different conditions, such as frozen, saturated, and dry situations. The results demonstrate that the AFCM method is suitable for identifying pore clusters, especially tiny pores, under various soil conditions. The method would provide an optional technique for the study of soil micromorphology. 展开更多

Tracking control is a very challenging problem in the networked control system(NCS), especially for the process with blurred mechanism and where only input-output data are available. This paper has proposed a data-based design approach for the networked tracking control system(NTCS). The method utilizes the input-output data of the controlled process to establish a predictive model with the help of fuzzy cluster modelling(FCM)technology. Then, the deduced error and error change in the future are treated as inputs of a fuzzy sliding mode controller(FSMC) to obtain a string of future control actions. These candidate control actions in the controller side are delivered to the plant side. Thus, the network induced time delays are compensated by selecting appropriate control action. An overview on the applications of the hesitant fuzzy sets in group decision-making: theory, support and methods

Due to the characteristics of hesitant fuzzy sets (HFSs), one hesitant fuzzy element (HFE), which is the basic component of HFSs, can express the evaluation values of multiple decision makers (DMs) on the same alternative under a certain attribute. Thus, the HFS has its unique advantages in group decision making (GDM). Based on which, many scholars have conducted in-depth research on the applications of HFSs in GDM. We have viewed lots of relevant literature and divided the existing studies into three categories: theory, support and methods. In this paper, we elaborate on hesitant fuzzy GDM from these three aspects. The first aspect is mainly about the introduction of HFSs, HFPRs and some hesitant fuzzy aggregation operators. The second aspect describes the consensus process under hesitant fuzzy environment, which is an important support for a complete decision making process. In the third aspect, we introduce seven hesitant fuzzy GDM approaches, which can be applied in GDM under different decision-making conditions. Finally, we summarize the research status of hesitant fuzzy GDM and put forward some directions of future research. 展开更多

在研究航天器飞行姿态控制问题上,为避免大范围跟踪时出现奇点情况,采用欧拉参数四元数来对刚体航天器的姿态进行描述。基于自适应控制算法设计航天器姿态稳定控制的控制器,将扰动力矩考虑到自适应控制率的设计过程中,并结合模糊算法进... 在研究航天器飞行姿态控制问题上,为避免大范围跟踪时出现奇点情况,采用欧拉参数四元数来对刚体航天器的姿态进行描述。基于自适应控制算法设计航天器姿态稳定控制的控制器,将扰动力矩考虑到自适应控制率的设计过程中,并结合模糊算法进行参数的在线优化处理。利用李雅普诺夫稳定性理论证明控制系统的稳定性及在有限时间内的收敛性,该控制器的参数易于调节和实现,且由于没有对航天器的动力学方程进行线性化处理,故极大程度上保证了该控制系统的控制精确度。仿真结果表明,当存在外部干扰力矩和参数抖动情况时,所设计的姿态控制器具有良好的稳定性。 展开更多
