International Exchanges by College Nursing Students: “International Comparisons of Awareness and Challenges” 预览

Aim: The aim of this study was to determine the extent of awareness of international exchanges among college nursing students in Japan and other countries and to identify strategies to improve awareness. Method: This is an integrative literature review, consisting of scientific articles published on “Ichushi-Web,” an Internet-based retrieval service by the Japan Medical Abstracts Society (JAMAS) and Google Scholar for domestic documents and, PubMed, Medline, Cochrane library and Google Scholar for foreign documents. We employed search parameters for “the years from 2000 to 2017” in combination with “international educational exchange”, “schools, nursing”, “students, nursing”, “program evaluation”, and “awareness.” Result: The data were extracted from seven documents among a review of 29 retrieved domestic documents written in Japanese, and another seven documents among a review of 111 retrieved foreign documents written in English. All documents from Japan were reports of quantitative studies, and most documents from other countries were qualitative studies. The data from Japanese research reports were classified into four perspectives: interest in international exchange, need to participate in international exchange, understanding of different cultures and awareness of foreign settlers. The data from research reports from other countries were classified into three perspectives: understanding of different cultures, improving expertise in nursing, and awareness of the international community. Conclusions: Strategies that will enhance students’ understanding of diverse cultures are needed to increase their awareness of international exchanges. 展开更多

The Impact of Concept Mapping on Caring Efficacy of Palestinian Nursing Students at Clinical Setting 预览

Background: The rapid change of health care delivery affirms the need for a change in the culture of nursing education through identifying the challenge to nursing faculty that many teach in the way they were taught, and suggesting a focus on the exploration of new teaching methods and student learning, rather than only focus on content coverage. Objectives: To examine the impact of concept mapping on caring efficacy of Palestinian nursing students. Methods: A quasi-experimental design, pre-post test, two groups (intervention and control group) were used. Convenience sample of 80 (40 participants in each group) nursing students from Arab American University, Jenin. Caring Efficacy was measured by Caring Efficacy Scale. The statistical tests such as t-test (independent and paired t-test) were used to examine the effect of concept mapping on caring efficacy of the fourth year nursing students at their clinical training. Results: Independent-samples t-test revealed statistically significant differences between the two groups in caring efficacy (t = 2.589, df = 78, P = 0.011);students in the intervention group showed higher level of caring efficacy than students in the control group during their clinical training. Conclusion: Concept mapping was found to be an effective teaching method for nursing students. The use of concept mapping is useful in enhancing meaningful learning. 展开更多

Background: Place of food preparation and hence consumption is an important determining factor for diet intake and consequently the risk for development of obesity. Aims: Present study attempts to examine dietary behavior among students attending undergraduate courses at Delhi University so as to assess the prevalence of overweight and obesity status using various dietary and behavioral factors triggering obesity. Methods: 201 females with age ranging from 18 to 22 years were interviewed for different socio-demographic information and parameters relating to lifestyle regime using a standardized proforma. Anthropometric and physiological measurements were taken according to standard techniques. Analysis was done using SPSS 20.0. Results: Family history for obesity and diabetes is noted to be significantly higher among girls taking home-made food. It has been reported that girls taking food prepared at home are more overweight/obese for BMI or at risk for higher waist line and waist height ratio as compared to those taking meals away from home. Conclusion: Universities can perform a crucial role in restraining the prevalence of obesity among young population by assessing college-going students for their weight status and eating practices and counseling them about healthy eating choices and habits. 展开更多

Background: This study aimed to identify the predictors of LGBT recognition by health sciences university students in Japan. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study that used quantitative data collected from 481 returned self-report questionnaires distributed to 866 health sciences undergraduate and graduate students. The following survey item and scales were used for measuring the main outcomes: Thoughts about sexual identity, Empathy scale, Objectivity scale, and LGBT recognition scale. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, two-sample t-test, one-way analysis of variance, and multiple regression analyses. SPSS ver. 23.0 (SPSS, Chicago, IL, USA) was used for data analysis at a 5% significance level. Results: The number of returned questionnaires was 481 (55.5%). There was no significant difference in the LGBT recognition and the participant’s characteristics (e.g., age and medical history). 目的分析情景模拟法在预防锐器伤教学中的应用效果,评价其相较传统教学法的优势。方法采用方便抽样法,将2018年7月—2018年12月在上海交大医学院附属瑞金医院手术室实习的120名护生作为研究对象,按实习批次分为观察组(67名)和对照组(53... 目的分析情景模拟法在预防锐器伤教学中的应用效果,评价其相较传统教学法的优势。方法采用方便抽样法,将2018年7月—2018年12月在上海交大医学院附属瑞金医院手术室实习的120名护生作为研究对象,按实习批次分为观察组(67名)和对照组(53名)。对照组由带教老师采用理论授课形式统一在教室内进行锐器伤防范与职业防护教学;观察组由带教老师采用情景模拟训练教学模式进行锐器伤教学;实习时间共4周。实习结束后,比较两组护生锐器伤防护态度正向率、锐器伤防护知识知晓率、锐器伤防护行为得分、操作考试得分和理论考试得分。结果两组护生的锐器伤防护态度正向率均为100%。观察组的常用锐器伤防护措施、发生锐器伤后处置方法知晓率高于对照组,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。观察组的污物处理、专科操作、伤后处置维度得分高于对照组,锐器伤自我防护行为总得分高于对照组,差异均有统计学意义(P<0.05)。观察组的操作考试成绩高于对照组,但理论考试成绩低于对照组,差异均有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论采用情景模拟法进行锐器伤预防教学可以提高实习护生的锐器伤防护知识水平,增强自我防护行为和伤后处置能力,同时能够提高实习护生的专科操作技能。 展开更多

目的分析2005—2017年天津市0~25岁人群中学生及非学生肺结核患者登记情况及分布特征,为进一步完善全市学校结核病防控策略制定和措施落实提供科学性依据。方法收集中国结核病管理信息系统、《天津统计年鉴》中2005—2017年的数据,用SPS... 目的分析2005—2017年天津市0~25岁人群中学生及非学生肺结核患者登记情况及分布特征,为进一步完善全市学校结核病防控策略制定和措施落实提供科学性依据。方法收集中国结核病管理信息系统、《天津统计年鉴》中2005—2017年的数据,用SPSS 19.0对数据进行统计学分析。结果2005—2017年天津市0~25岁学生及非学生肺结核登记率呈显著下降趋势,分别由2005年的27.65/10万和24.28/10万下降至2017年的17.71/10万(P<0.001)和13.58/10万(P<0.001)。13~15岁(P<0.001)及16~18岁(P<0.001)人群患者构成以学生(54.32%~96.97%)为主,19~22岁(P<0.001)及22~25岁(P<0.001)人群患者以非学生为主,学生仅为7.96%~48.76%。13~15岁(P<0.001)和16~18岁(P<0.001)的学生病例数与同期在校生数呈正相关;19~22岁(P<0.001)和22~25岁(P<0.001)的学生病例数与同期在校生数呈负相关。结论天津市学生肺结核疫情呈显著下降趋势,但0~25岁人群非学生患者中隐藏部分学生患者,应进一步加强学生肺结核患者的主动发现工作。 展开更多

Changes in the National Council of State Boards of Nursing along with other factors influence graduates’ successful completion of a nursing program and the licensing examination. Literature is scarce in the area of examining student perceptions of preparing for and taking the NCLEX-RN examination. Our study sought to fill this gap in knowledge by conducting a focus group and interviews with individuals who passed the NCLEX-RN on their first attempt and those who did not. This was a descriptive qualitative study which used semi-structured interviews and a focus group to examine graduates’ perceptions related to preparing for and taking the NCLEX-RN. Four themes emerged from the data: messages from faculty, preparation strategies, exam readiness, and the disconnection between pretest and intra-test experiences. Findings point towards the importance of implementing a variety of strategies to ensure that graduates successfully pass the NCLEX-RN. 展开更多

This study aims to explore the Sultan Qaboos University undergraduate students’ perceptions and attitudes towards using m-Health app and its impact on improving their sports and health habits. Triangulation was used by applying a questionnaire and focus groups interviews to answer the research questions. The survey sample was (20) male and female students from four science and humanities colleges. Both quantitative and qualitative findings unequivocally reveal the students’ positive perceptions and attitudes toward the use of the mobile health app. No statistically significant differences were found between the responses of either males or females, or the science and humanitarian colleges of the sample students. In light of these findings, the study set forth its conclusions and recommendations. 展开更多

目的了解医学生手机依赖与拖延行为的现状,探讨两者的相关性。方法采用随机分层抽样法,选取某医学院校的大学生220名为研究对象。采用大学生手机依赖量表和一般拖延量表对其进行调查。共发放问卷220份,回收有效问卷209份。结果74.6%的... 目的了解医学生手机依赖与拖延行为的现状,探讨两者的相关性。方法采用随机分层抽样法,选取某医学院校的大学生220名为研究对象。采用大学生手机依赖量表和一般拖延量表对其进行调查。共发放问卷220份,回收有效问卷209份。结果74.6%的医学生存在手机依赖,209名医学生手机依赖量表总分为(66.67±12.39)分;在是否恋爱及是否认为手机必不可少的学生间,手机依赖量表总分差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。92.3%医学生存在拖延行为,209名医学生一般拖延量表总分(54.21±10.75)分;不同年级间医学生一般拖延量表得分差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。医学生手机依赖量表得分及一般拖延量表得分存在正相关关系(r=0.240,P<0.01)。结论手机依赖与拖延行为在医学生中均较为普遍,手机依赖水平较高的学生更易产生拖延行为,建议可以通过引导医学生合理使用手机,减少其拖延行为发生。 展开更多

In this paper, the MHT test paper was used to evaluate the mental health status of 226 students in different places. MHT refers to the mental health test for primary and middle school students. Results: 1) 34 students had serious psychological tendency, which was mainly manifested in learning anxiety, anxiety about people, self-accusation tendency and impulse tendency;2) There are gender differences in mental health problems among school students, with more girls than boys. There are also regional differences, with more students in Guangdong than in other regions. There are also differences in learning stages, and there are more senior high school students than junior middle school students. Conclusion: 1) Students in school have different degrees of mental health problems. 2) These mental health problems are different due to three different factors. 展开更多

Background: Drug addiction is a major public health and socioeconomic problem worldwide that annoys the Egyptian government, as it deals with youth within the age of productivity. Aim of the Work: To determine the prevalence of drug abuse among Zagazig University students. Subjects and Methods: A cross-sectional study conducted on 750 students in Zagazig University from the beginning of November 2015 to the end of November 2016, after an informed verbal consent. Data were collected through a self-administrated questionnaire and the results of screening urine samples. Results: The prevalence of drug abuse in general was 7.41%. The prevalence of drug abuse in descending order was tetrahydrocannabinol (3.9%) followed by tramadol (1.9%) then benzodiazepines (0.67%), while, opium and barbiturates each one of them (0.47%). 18% of them were Polydrug users and were only males. Tramadol was the commonest drug to use in polydrug users. The prevalence of smoking was 16.81% and strongly related to gender as in males 26.1% were current smokers while in females only 1.4%. The prevalence of abusing alcohols was 6%, and all of them were males. Conclusion: The prevalence of drug abuse in Zagazig university students is considered high and a very serious problem damaging the youth and the community. Recommendation: Future longitudinal studies should be conducted to investigate the risk factors of drug abuse and suggest the use of urine analysis for drugs of abuse for all students before joining the university. 展开更多

目的构建基于SCI论文的护理研究生学术讨论(Seminar)课程模式,并评价其对护理研究生科研能力的作用。方法采用整群抽样法,选取某医科大学2015级护理研究生57人为对照组,2016级护理研究生58人为试验组。以SCI护理论文为研讨主题,对照组... 目的构建基于SCI论文的护理研究生学术讨论(Seminar)课程模式,并评价其对护理研究生科研能力的作用。方法采用整群抽样法,选取某医科大学2015级护理研究生57人为对照组,2016级护理研究生58人为试验组。以SCI护理论文为研讨主题,对照组实施经验式Seminar课程模式,试验组基于科研能力结构模型和Seminar学习目标构建课程模式并实施。采用科研动机量表(RMS)、护理研究自我效能感量表(NURSES)、护理人员科研能力自评量表(SRASES)、Seminar调查问卷评价干预的效果。结果课程结束后,试验组护理研究生RMS总分、内在动机、外在动机得分高于对照组,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。课程结束后,试验组护理研究生NURSES总分、获取科学知识资源与"集体研究效能"得分高于对照组,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。课程结束后,试验组护理研究生SRASES总分及各维度得分高于对照组,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论基于SCI论文研讨的Seminar课程模式,可一定程度提升护理研究生科研动机、科研效能感和科研能力,但在帮助学生避免科研失败动机、对理论的理解和应用方面仍需进一步探索。 展开更多

目的了解海阳市7~18岁学生超重和肥胖状况,为进一步采取健康干预措施提供依据。方法 2016年9月对海阳市69所学校7~18岁在校学生进行健康体检,计算身体质量指数(BMI),以中国肥胖问题工作组(WGOC)颁布的'中国学龄儿童青少年超重、肥... 目的了解海阳市7~18岁学生超重和肥胖状况,为进一步采取健康干预措施提供依据。方法 2016年9月对海阳市69所学校7~18岁在校学生进行健康体检,计算身体质量指数(BMI),以中国肥胖问题工作组(WGOC)颁布的'中国学龄儿童青少年超重、肥胖筛查体重指数值分类标准'判定超重和肥胖情况。结果调查43 802名学生,男生22 130人(占50.52%),女生21 672人(占49.48%),男∶女=1.02∶1。学生超重率为10.63%(4 656人),肥胖率为5.36%(2 348人),其中男生超重率(12.56%)和肥胖率(7.55%)均高于女生(8.66%、3.12%)(P<0.01)。随着年龄增长,学生的超重率和肥胖率呈现先升高后降低的趋势,各年龄段男生超重率、肥胖率均高于女生(P<0.05)。男生BMI的P85、P95均高于WGOC标准;女生P95除18岁(26.67)低于WGOC肥胖标准,其余年龄P85、P95均高于WGOC标准。结论海阳市7~18岁学生超重率和肥胖率高于全国水平。 展开更多

目的了解无锡市滨湖区初中寄宿新生和高中新生结核病感染情况,为学校结核病筛查提供科学依据。方法对2017年滨湖区2 172名初中寄宿新生和高中新生进行结核菌素试验(PPD),对强阳性者进行胸部X线摄片检查。结果初中寄宿新生和高中新生两... 目的了解无锡市滨湖区初中寄宿新生和高中新生结核病感染情况,为学校结核病筛查提供科学依据。方法对2017年滨湖区2 172名初中寄宿新生和高中新生进行结核菌素试验(PPD),对强阳性者进行胸部X线摄片检查。结果初中寄宿新生和高中新生两组间的一般阳性+中度阳性率、强阳性率、总阳性率差异均有统计学意义(χ^2值分别为31.3、8.12、41.57,P值均<0.01)。其中一所有部分新疆学生的高中与其他高中新生的总阳性率、一般阳性+中度阳性率均有统计学意义(χ^2值分别为270.94、324.49,P值均<0.01)。高中新生男生总阳性率、强阳性率均低于女生,差异均有统计学意义(χ^2值分别为8.51、6.28,P值均<0.05)。对65名PPD强阳性者进行胸片检查,未发现活动性肺结核患者。结论无锡市滨湖区高中新生结核菌感染状况不容乐观,应将结核病筛查纳入新生体检,并加强对新疆学生的结核病监测管理,以早期发现肺结核病人,防止结核病在学校暴发流行。 展开更多
