Optimizing a Long-Lived Transaction with Verification Function 预览

We have considered a method called Enhanced Rollback Migration Protocol, which potentially has the effects of compressing the period of compensations in a long-lived transaction, since before. In general, a compensation transaction can recover an irregular status of a long-lived transaction into the original status without holding unnecessary resources by making its consistency tentatively loose. However, it has also been pointed out that there is a difficulty of maintaining the isolation between a pair of transactions when executed in parallel. In particular, this could be more prominent under modernized scalable cloud environments. Thus, there is a proposal for concurrency control for the service level. However, there is still another risk that more computer resources will be consumed than actually necessary and an unnecessary stagnation of the processing will be caused if concurrency control is naively applied without careful consideration. Therefore, we need to implement a functionality which can optimize the processing of a long-lived transaction by selecting a suitable method between concurrency control and compensation transactions. In this paper, we propose a method in which optimistic concurrency control is applied for long-lived transactions. Furthermore, a pair of verification phases is carried out. At the beginning from a safe point, an attempt of verification is done. Then if the difficulty of isolation on a long-lived transaction executed under a competitive situation is estimated, concurrency control for the service level is applied. Alternatively, a long-lived transaction without any concurrency control is executed. At the next reachable safe point, another attempt of verification is performed. Then if a failure of serialization is detected, a set of compensation transactions is invoked to recover the original long-lived transaction by returning to the first safe point. Gene knockdown approaches using antisense oligo nucleotides or analogs such as siRNAs and morpholinos have been widely adopted to study gene functions although the off-target issue has been always a concern in these studies.On the other hand,classic genetic analysis relies on the availability of loss-offunction or gain-of-function mutants.The fast development of genome editing technologies such as TALEN and CRISPR/Cas9 has greatly facilitated the generation of null mutants for the functional studies of target genes in a variety of organisms such as zebrafish.Surprisingly,an unexpected discrepancy was observed between morphant phenotype and mutant phenotype for many genes in zebrafish,i.e.,while the morphant often displays an obvious phenotype,the corresponding null mutant appears relatively normal or only exhibits a mild phenotype due to gene compensation.Two recent reports have partially answered this intriguing question by showing that a pre-mature termination codon and homologous sequence are required to elicit the gene compensation and the histone modifying complex COMPASS is involved in activating the expression of the compensatory genes.Here,I summarize these exciting new progress and try to redefine the concept of genetic compensation and gene compensation. 展开更多

Ecological poverty alleviation is one of China’s accurate poverty alleviation strategies. The Guiding Opinions of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on Three-year Action to Win the Fight against Poverty issued in August 2018 calls for innovating ecological poverty alleviation mechanisms,strengthening ecological protection and restoration in poor areas,and achieving a win-win situation of ecological improvement and poverty alleviation. Poverty alleviation by ecological compensation has realized the effective combination of ecological protection compensation and accurate poverty alleviation policy mechanism. Although China has achieved some practical results in ecological poverty alleviation at the policy level,the combination of ecological protection and accurate poverty alleviation and the corresponding policy measures have not yet been fully integrated. Moreover,the mode of ecological compensation for poverty alleviation is not perfect,and the corresponding operating mechanism of ecological compensation for poverty alleviation has not been fully established. This paper summarizes and expounds the present situation of ecological compensation research( including ecological compensation concept,ecological compensation mechanism,ecological compensation mode),the current situation of ecological poverty alleviation research( including the relationship between ecological compensation and poverty alleviation,ecological poverty alleviation model,ecological poverty alleviation mechanism),and then analyzes the main problems existing in the current poverty alleviation by ecological compensation. This paper puts forward the breakthrough points of establishing and perfecting ecological compensation to help the poor,so as to provide a reference basis for further promoting the development of ecological poverty alleviation. 展开更多

Water supply services(WSSs) are critical for the regional water balance and water circulation, but relevant studies have not established the relationship between WSSs and human well-being. This research identifies the scope of areas that benefit from WSSs from an ecosystem service flow perspective. Moreover, the path and quantity of the flow of WSSs are simulated to provide a scientific theoretical basis for ecosystem service management and ecological compensation. The Dongjiang Lake Basin is a national priority river basin in China where ecological compensation pilot programmes concerning water resources are top priorities. Dongjiang Lake Basin experienced an increase and then a decrease in the overall supply of water, with an average net water supply of 1096–1500 mm for the years 1995, 2000, 2005 and 2010. The water demand increased each year in service beneficiary areas(SBAs), varying from 387 to 580 mm. Overall, Dongjiang Lake Basin met the net water demands of the actual SBAs in the lower reaches, but a gap in the water supply and demand emerged gradually. This research provides an understanding of the functional mechanisms for the provision, demand and flow of WSSs and provides a scientific theoretical basis for ecosystem service management and ecological compensation. 展开更多

A prompt gamma-neutron activation analysis (PGNAA) system was developed to detect the iron content of iron ore concentrate. Because of the self-absorption effect of gamma-rays and neutrons, and the interference of chlorine in the neutron field, the linear relationship between the iron analytical coefficient and total iron content was poor, increasing the error in the quantitative analysis. To solve this problem, gamma-ray self-absorption compensation and a neutron field correction algorithm were proposed, and the experimental results have been corrected using this algorithm. The results show that the linear relationship between the iron analytical coefficient and total iron content was considerably improved after the correction. The linear correlation coefficients reached 0.99 or more. 展开更多

Nitrogen dioxide(NO2)is an important substance in atmospheric photochemical processes and can also be absorbed by plants.N02 fluxes between the atmosphere and P.nigrc seedlings were investigated by a double dynamic chambers method in Beijing from June 15to September 3,2017.The range of N02 exchange fluxes between P.nigra seedlings and the atmosphere was from-14.6 to 0.8 nmol/(m2.sec)(the positive data represent N02 emissior from trees,while the negative values indicate absorption).Under ambient concentrations the mean NO2 flux during the fast-growing stage(Jun.15-Aug.4)was-3.0 nmol/(m2·sec)greater than the flux of-1.5 nmol/(m2-sec)during the later growth stage(Aug.8-Sept.3)The daily exchange fluxes of NO2 obviously fluctuated.The fluxes were largest in the morning and decreased gradually over time.Additionally,the N02 fluxes were larger undei high light intensities than under low light intensities during the whole growth period.The effects of temperature on N02 fluxes were different under two growth periods.The NO2exchange fluxes were larger in a range of temperatures close to 44℃in the fast-growing stage,whereas there were no evident differences in N02 exchange fluxes under widel differing temperatures in the later growth stage.Under polluted conditions,the uptake ability of N02 was weakened.Additionally,the compensation point of N02 was 5.6 ppb ir the fast-growing stage,whereas it was 1.4 ppb in the later growth stage.The depositior velocities of NO2 were between 0.3 and 2.4 mm/sec. 展开更多

为掌握景洪市野生动物肇事及其补偿情况,经过查阅野生动物肇事及补偿统计表、年度保险理赔金额等资料,并进行统计分析。结果表明,1990—2017年景洪市野生动物肇事共造成群众经济损失24040.0432万元,人员伤亡121人(死14人),实际补偿2735.... 为掌握景洪市野生动物肇事及其补偿情况,经过查阅野生动物肇事及补偿统计表、年度保险理赔金额等资料,并进行统计分析。结果表明,1990—2017年景洪市野生动物肇事共造成群众经济损失24040.0432万元,人员伤亡121人(死14人),实际补偿2735.3798万元,补偿率为11.4%;肇事野生动物主要为亚洲象、野猪、黑熊,偶蹄类、灵长类和爬行动物等;肇事的主要原因为人口的日益增长、土地利用方式改变、野生动物栖息地不断丧失、野生动物食性改变以及保护措施的有效实施等。建议采取缓解人象冲突、完善补偿机制、防范野生动物肇事、野生动物栖息地恢复、保护区内村寨搬迁、相关补偿法规的建立与完善等措施以解决存在的问题。 展开更多
