In this paper, the effects of both rotation and magnetic field of the peristaltic transport of a second-order fluid through a porous medium in a channel are studied analytically and computed numerically. The material is represented by the constitutive equations for a second-order fluid. Closed-form solutions under the consideration of long wavelength and low Reynolds number is presented. The analytical expressions for the pressure gradient, pressure rise, friction force, stream function, shear stress, and velocity are obtained in the physical domain. The effects of the non-dimensional wave amplitude, porosity, magnetic field, rotation, and the dimensionless time-mean flow in the wave frame are analyzed theoretically and computed numerically. Numerical results are given and illustrated graphically in each case considered. Comparison was made with the results obtained in the presence and absence of rotation, magnetic field, and porosity. The results indicate that the effects of the non-dimensional wave amplitude, porosity, magnetic field, rotation, and the dimensionless time-mean flow are very pronounced in the phenomena. 展开更多

The effects of rotation and gravity on an electro-magneto-thermoelastic medium with diffusion and voids in a generalized thermoplastic half-space are studied by using the Lord-Shulman (L-S) model and the dual-phase-lag (DPL) model. The analytical solutions for the displacements, stresses, temperature, diffusion concentration, and volume fraction field with different values of the magnetic field, the rotation, the gravity, and the initial stress are obtained and portrayed graphically. The results indicate that the effects of gravity, rotation, voids, diffusion, initial stress, and electromagnetic field are very pronounced on the physical properties of the material. 展开更多

In this paper, we investigated the propagation of magneto-thermoelastic surfacewaves in fibre-reinforced anisotropic general viscoelastic media of higher order ofnth order,including time rate of strain under the influence of rotation and magnetic field.The generalsurface wave speed is derived to study the effects of rotation, magnetic field and thermal onsurface waves. Particular cases for Stoneley, Love and Rayleigh waves are discussed. Theresults obtained in this investigation are more general in the sense that some earlier publishedresults are obtained from our result as special cases. Our results for viscoelastic of order zeroare well agreed to fibre-reinforced materials. Comparison was made with the results obtainedin the presence and absence of rotation, magnetic field and parameters for fibre-reinforced ofthe material medium. It is also observed that, surface waves cannot propagate in a fast rotatingmedium. Numerical results for particular materials are given and illustrated graphically. Theresults indicate that the effect of rotation, magnetic field on fibre-reinforced anisotropic generalviscoelastic media are very pronounced. 展开更多

This paper studies the effects of the magnetic field and the porosity on a poroelastic bone model for internal remodeling. The solution of the internal bone remodeling process induced by a magnetic field is presented. The bone is treated as a poroelastic material by Biot's formulation. Based on the theory of small strain adaptive elasticity, a theoretical approach for the internal remodeling is proposed. The components of the stresses, the displacements, and the rate of internal remodeling are obtained in analytical forms, and the numerical results are represented graphically. The results indicate that the effects of the magnetic field and the porosity on the rate of internal remodeling in bone are very pronounced. 展开更多
