Objective To explore the prognosis of elder depressive patients.Methods 69 elder depressive patients were included and received from 2 to 10 years following-up investigation. Results 47 patients had recovered (68.12%), 3 patients had been continuously ill (4.34%),12 patients had relapsed (17.39%),7 patients had been dead (10.15 %).Gender and occupation had no effects on prognosis. Patients accompanied by physical disorders or brain abnormal ability had a higher relapse rate. Conclusions Elder depressive patients have a well prognosis. Psychosocial factors are not only evoking but have an important effect on prognosis.
