Based on historic underwater topography and nautical chart data,the Digital Elevation Model for the evolution of the reach is established,to analyze characters and reasons of the recent fluvial processes in the Qinzhou Bay from adjustment of planform,cross-section and river bed. Results indicate that during 2005-2015,the middle of the Qinzhou Bay and shoals of the Maowei sea were general charactered by siltation,the main channel at the outlet of the river was slightly washed down and cut off,and beach surface outside the bay showed erosion,the beach groove shape by four shoals and three channels changed,the top of the west channel was obviously shallow,the middle channel disapeared and the position of east slot is becoming more and more prominent. In addition,upstream sediment conditions and human activities were analyzed to clarify the mechanism of evolution. Results show that human activities,especially reclamation and channel construction,lead to changes in the dynamic environment of water and sediment in the Qinzhou Bay and play a major role in the riverbed evolution on the Qinzhou Bay at this stage.
