Objective To analyze the research status of the objective-based teaching method in the nursing teaching of China in order to provide reference for future nursing teaching research and practice. Methods Through the China National Knowledge Internet, the academic journal articles from January 1, 2009 to June 15, 2019 were searched under the search condition "themes" with the search terms "objective-based teaching method" and "nursing" usingprecise matching. And quantitative analysis of the retrieved articles was conducted. Results A total of 119 articles were retrieved, of which 64.71% were from medical and health science journals, 24.37% were from nursing journals, 89.92% were from hospitals, 57.14% were collaborated articles, 8.40% were fund articles;The cited frequency was 77.31% and the total number of times of citations was 444;The research directions include clinical teaching of intern nurses, skills training of new nurses, classroom teaching, and skills competition training. Conclusion The objective-based teaching method has a low researchlevel in the nursing teaching of China. It is necessary to increase research efforts, continuously explore new research directions, improve research quality, and enrich and promote the content and development process of nursing teaching research of China.
