Objective To study the clinical effect of Kanggan granule in the treatment of hand, foot and mouth disease. Methods One hundred and twenty-six children with hand, foot and mouth disease admitted in our hospital from December 2016 to December 2018 were selected as the study objects and divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 63 cases in each group. The control group was given routine treatment, while the observation group was treated with Kanggan granule on the basis of the control group. The total effective rates of treatment, herpes subsidence time, temperature recovery time, ulcer healing time, hospitalization time and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the herpes subsidence time, temperature recovery time, ulcer healing time and hospitalization time in the observation group were significantly shorter than those in the control group (P<0.05). During the treatment period, no adverse reactions and vomiting, pain and other medication discomfortable symptoms were found in all children. Conclusion Kanggan granule is effective and safe in the treatment of children with hand, foot and mouth disease, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
