[Objective]In order to solve the delay of rice planting in Huaibei area, the effects of different sowing dates on the yield, yield component and quality of rice varieties were discussed.[Method]The experiment was conducted in Xuzhou Agricultural Science Institute in 2017,with the experimental materials of Xudao No.9 and Lianjing No.7,and 5 sowing dates were set up to study the effect of sowing period on rice yield, yield composition and quality.[Result]The yield of the two varieties increased first and then decreased with the delay of sowing date, and the main factors affecting yield were the reduction of panicle number per unit area and spikelet number per panicle, while the change of 1 000-grains weight was not obvious. The head milled rice rate, chalkiness degree and chalky rice rate increased first and then decreased with the delay of sowing date, but did not reach a significant level.[Conclusion]In terms of variety,no matter yield, yield components or quality, the response of Xudao No.9 to sowing delay was less than that of Lianjing No.7.
