Objective To analyze the correlation between plasma adiponectin （APN） level and the severity of coronary artery lesions in patients with acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction and investi- gate its clinical significance. Methods Eighty patients with acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction were selected as acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction group, at the same time, 20 cases of healthy people were selected as healthy group. At the next morning of admission the level of fasting APN in all patients was measured. The correlation between the severity of coronary artery lesions and the level of APN was observed and analyzed, and the APN levels at different infarction sites were compared. Results APN lev- el in acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction group was significantly higher than that in healthy group （P 〈 0. 05 ） ; the APN level was positively correlated with the severity of coronary artery lesions, the correlation co- efficient： r =0. 695, P 〈0. 05. Conclusions Taking no account of heart fail,e, the higher the level of APN, the more severe coronary artery disease in patients with acute myocardial infarction. APN determination con- duces to classify the security of ST-elevation myocardial infraction and assess the prognosis.
