Objective To invesligale the effecl of general anesthesia and epidural anesthesia on posloperalive cognilive function in elderly palienls with orthopedic surgery. Methods Sixly-eighl elderly palienls who received orthopedic surgery in our hospital were selected and divided into lwo groups according lo lhe draw lots sequence, with 34 cases in each group. The control group received general anesthesia, and lhe observation group accepted epidural anesthesia. The operation indexes, HR and MAP before and after anesthesia, cognilive function scores of lhe lwo groups were compared. Results There were no significant di^erences on lhe incidence rale of hypotension, anesthesia lime, bleeding volume and transfusion volume between lhe lwo groups （ P〉0.05）. There were no significant differences on HR, MAP in each lime point before and after anesthesia between lhe lwo groups （ P〉0.05）. After 24 h anesthesia, lhe cognilive function score of lhe observation group was significantly higher than lhal of lhe control group （ P〈0.05）. Conclusion Compared with general anesthesia, epidural anesthesia can reduce lhe effecl on posloperalive cognilive function in elderly palienls with orthopedic surgery, which has high safely.
