In order to understand the present situation of the application of modern education technology in rural middle school teachers and improve the effect of it,this study has designed a multiple sets of questionnaire to conduct a survey among the teachers of 9 rural middle schools in 4 counties of H Province in central China. The survey has 5 dimensions, namely the preparation in knowledge and ability, the attitude towards the application of education technology, the range and level of the application of educational technology,the facilities and environment,and the effects and understandings. The findings indicate：rural middle school teachers do not have enough preparation of knowledge and ability to apply modern educational technology,they do not show enough enthusiasm for it,they can only apply modern educational technology in a narrow range and show a lower level,the facilities and environment for the application of modern educational technology is comparatively bad,the effects and understandings of the application of modern educational technology are not satisfactory. As a result,teachers,schools and relevant government departments should take active measures to improve this situation.
