In 1980s, in the wake of teacher＇s specialization which society called for more and more, researches on teacher competence were applied broadly, and people did a lot in exploring teacher competence in terms of teacher＇s characteristics, teacher＇s quality and teacher evaluation and also gained lots of achievements. But shortcomings exist in the current research in terms of content, method and thread of thought, resulting in the fact that research on teacher competence is still in the non-substantial state. Therefore, in the future research we should give more consideration to the positive research on the relationship between the competence and performance; in the research method, it will investigate the scientification and applicability of subject and its generation, and will also continuously perfect the constructing and verifying method of teacher competence model; in the research scope, it will not be only on individual teacher, but on the unity of teacher, school and manager, and not only develops teacher＇s competence, but also advances the inter-development of teacher, school and manager. Consequently, it will build a teacher-centered networking system with teacher competence at its core.
